Hey all!

Tonight myself, a good friend of mine and my brother are going to watch "Objects in Space" and then "The Big Damn Movie." I've seen the series and Serenity, numerous times, but they are just finishing up their first. More Browncoats is never a bad thing, huh? Anyway, Anybody have any ideas on munchies? We did Popcorn through the series, time for something new.

Oh and no Protien Packs! =)

You can actually buy bao at the grocery store in the frozen section with the other asian foods

Also I like to do up a plate of cut fresh fruit and provide chopsticks for it.

Or you could go the easy route and do take out chinese:)

Chinese is a good idea and if you're so inclined, get a good Chinese beer, or Guinness or some other dark beer to substitute for mudder's milk.

Steamed dumplings also work.

Gorramit, ec! I've been trying to get that Fruity Oaty Bar song out of my head for the last four years!

Seriously, I'd go Chinese, with strawberries for dessert, as suggested above. Strawberries and Guinness. Yesh.

I throw an Annual Picnic called the Browncoats Backwoods bash. We always have "Good dogs", some kind of hot cheese for the chips, and the big hit is Apple Slices with a carmel dipping sauce (Grenades cost extra).

Sweet! What part of the backwoods you lost in, friend? Anywhere's near Kentucky? I'm thinking of establishin' a Browncoats Tea Party in my neck of the 'verse, but a picnic would rock like hell. Your menu sounds great. You should add some "very fresh wine" though...

I was thinking tea and biscuits with cute little triangular sandwiches (ala Badger in "Shindig"); perhaps some very fresh wine & some hot cheese would make it to the table along with the obviously mandatory strawberries...

Some "good dogs" barbeque sounds awful tasty too...

An excellent source is an Asian grocery store if there's one in the area. When we go to Raleigh, we swing by the Grand Asian Market in Cary and load up on frozen bao and other goodies such as curry, rice, exotic veggies etc.

I actually also got lots of things for the CSTS auction there too as they sell lots of knickknacks such as jasmine soap and teas.

We also stop by the food court for fresh bao and fancy pastries. I haven't tried the duck that hangs ready to eat though.

Bao is a steamed yeast bun with many types of fillings, from pork to red bean paste to lyche nut. It looks like a big puff ball of dough and has the goodness inside.
