Better weapon?

Okay, what is the better weapon, Jayne's "Vera", or the Barrett M99 50 cal. sniper rifle. Personally i'd go with the Barrett, because the M99, (multi. round), and it's imediate predicesor, the M89, (single round fire), both fire 50 cal. rounds, can stop a tank dead in it's tracks, and can kill from over a mile away, rendering "Vera" obsolete, not sayiong if you can sneak up to the Barrett's firer that you couldn't kill him, it's just the 50m cal. sniper's the better weapon. PERIOD.

For firing from a fixed/prepared/concealed position at an unaware opponent that is unable to overrun your position, and has only one lane of approach, is at long range, or is in a lightly armored vehicle (I don't think a .50 BMG round can penetrate the armor of a current generation main battle tank) yes.

Onboard ship, close quarters, multiple opponents from multiple directions, while on the move, rapid response and shifting fields of fire? Vera, or an MP5 variant, or even a .45 would be more useful.

The "Best" weapon changes, depending on the circumstances.
