"Outlaw Josey Wales" is the 2nd best western ever made, the 1st is "True Grit". "Dirty Harry" is my fav Eastwood flick, in it he's pure Clint. He also rocks in "High Plains Drifter", again pure Clint.

Clint is one of the most watchable stars ever.

1. A Fistful Of Dollars - Just because that first 'exchange' after they scare his horse makes me laugh so hard every time.

2. Unforgiven - A true western, none of this John Wayne shite that so many people seem to like (sorry Whozit). Brutal, honest and perfectly acted by all.

3. Good, Bad, Ugly - Need I say anything?

4. - Gran Torino - Unforgiven for the Dirty Harry movies. His put down of the priest was brilliant but it was always about how one man can change his views about those around him and his community.

5. Pale Rider - I have a soft spot for films with a touch of fantasy or mysticism about them.

I also like Firefox, Few Dollars More, High Plains Drifter, Play Misty, Any Which Way and Every Which Way, Dirty Harry, Kelly's Heroes....

Has he ever made a really terrible movie?
I can't think of one that isn't at least watchable.

Did you know that in "The Eiger Sanction" Clint decided the stunts were too dangerous for him to ask anyone to do them for him, so he learned mountain climbing and was the last climber up the Totem Pole in Monument Valley, before climbing the Eiger? That scene with the 1000 foot drop below and he has to cut his rope? Yup. Clint did that stunt. He writes his own music (he's an accomplished jazz pianist), performs it and directs most of his movies. He ran for mayor of Carmel, then left after one term. A modest, competent man and a role model for all. He should play heavy metal to be perfect, but he was also born in 1930 (meaning he was 43 when he climbed that mountain), so we can excuse the jazz bit. At least it's not rap, country or disco.

He made a few that are tough to watch *ahem HonkytonkMan ahem*. "Play Misty For Me" is creepy - as are "The Dead Pool" and "Tightrope".

However, the overwhelming majority of his films are magnificent. He's right up there with John Wayne, obviously.

Traveler, Some how I knew you would pick Paint Your Wagon, classic choice. I'm not an Eastwood fan. Duke fan all the way. Dirty Harry moives I can watch. But one I really like is Where Eagles Dare with Richard Burton. You'll not see that again. I enjoy Kelly's Heroes too.

"Battle of Serenity, Mal. Besides Zoe here, how many-" "I'm talkin at you! How many men in your platoon came out of their alive".

There is something about Clint singing, if it can be called that, that makes the movie memorable. And the scene where the town collapses just gets me to horse laugh.

"Kelly's Heroes"..."Firefox"..."Where Eagles Dare"..."The Eiger Sanction"...and "Million Dollar Baby".
Oddly enough, most of the "Dirty Harry" franchise did not really do it for me-go figure.
And for an oddball follow up"Absolute Power".

Traveler alittle UFO trivia. Not Gabrielle Drake but the hot chick undressing on the moon station in the begining titles is Michael Caine's wife. Why I remember stuff like that I do not know but there it is.
