here's my problem.. i love angel.. i mean really LOVE it.. you should read the rants I go off on about how WWP is god and yadda yadda yadda..

however, on-line petitions are meaningless.

This has been proven over and over again. Even REAL paper petitions won't change the minds of the WB execs. I guess people have to fill these out to feel they "did their part" to save the show. But the thing is, I am sure WB realises how many fans Angel has when they decided to cancel the show. They just don't care. It's all about $.

i am inclined to agree but its worth a try. its always worth a try.

im sure i read somewhere that a bunch of roswell fans sent in postcards to upn and then upn picked the show up? is that just my mind working in strange ways or does this have any substance?

I did not hear that.. however, postcards and on-line petitions are two seperate beasts.. As everyone here should know by the farscape and firefly campaigns.. the fans can have a LOUD voice and support their shows.. however, it isn't done by on-line petitions which can be easily forged and ARE just as easily discounted and discarded by network execs.

It's only by the grace of Joss, M.E., and Universal that our cries are being heeded.. I do not believe Angel will have those elements in it's corner (though a film to wrap up the buffy-verse would rule) and a I do not see any way for Angel to be picked up by another network.

I hadn't even heard this news until this morning, and am completely floored. This is the last piece of Whedon on television, and it's going to be canned for some stupid reality tv show.

I'm so sick of this crap. Televsion will be nothing but reality shows in 5 years. There will no longer be a place for creativity and genius.

eh...this is just sick.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

The petition thing has already been done:

http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=3814

Let's not clog up the board w/ calls to sign the petition if threads already exist, just bump the initial thread.

I for one am upset by the news of the cancellation of Angel, and I have signed the petition.
