Good grief, that's been sitting there since Friday night. Thanks for picking up on that, Firelily. Here are full words (Affablechap being Chris Buchanan, pres of Mutant Enemy):

OK Girlie, you asked for it...

"Hi" to all Browncoats.

Sit tight.

All is well.

All are very busy.

Train is still on the tracks.

Boulder almost to the top of the hill.

No real news until everything is in place.

Patience is indeed a virtue.

Love is the universal language.

---END QUOTE---

This is most accurate news yet in weeks. Lookin' good . . . if I can be Standard Firefly Optimist (tm).

I would still prefer a TV show...

To be honest, I really want closure more than anything else. Often times when a show gets cancelled I never get any closure. While I would love to see the show come back, I don't want to build my hopes up just to have them dashed. That doesn't mean, however, that I won't do everything in my power to spread the joy that is Firefly. Maybe if the movie does well enough, someone will pick the show back up.

Till human voices wake us, and we drown.

I can just see the J.O.s running the studio now, after a "Firefly" movie does well...

EXEC 1: "Wow, that new Whedon movie made millions."
EXEC2: "Yeah. Pretty damn good. A Western set in Space with lots of Chinese swearing thrown into the mix. Who would've thought..."
EXEC1: "You know how I think we can really cash in?"
EXEC2: "Gee, no, how?"
EXEC1: "Let's make it into a TV show! I think the stories could be scaled down into, say an hour-long weekly show."
EXEC2: "Sounds good."

ROFLMAO!!! I can imagine the Fox execs doing just that.

If the movie does generate a resurection of the TV series, I hope some other channel picks it up. Any channel BUT Fox.

More likely what we'll get is a bunch of retarded clones by the very same idiots that never really got it in the first place. Sigh. It sure sucks being cynical and right.

EXEC3: Nah, that'll cost too much...let's replace the actors with reality-show contestants!
EXEC2: Great idea!
EXEC3: While we're at it, scuttle that expensive set and just have some egomaniacal CEO let us use his offices as the setting!
EXEC 1: Brilliant! Let's all give ourselves big raises for saving the network so much money!!!

Now, now. You folks can't be like that about the fox executives. Your conjecture is without merit. I mean, there's no proof that great apes have thought processes that complex.

Yeahhhhhhh Baby!!!! I take this as the best and most reliable good sign there has been in a while. Far more up in tone. I feel like I can almost relax. But not quite.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Definitely excellent news.

Adam Baldwin also posted in the thread saying "No news is good news".

Though it is not a date on the movie release, the fact that according to Tim things seem to be on track is the best news we have had since getting a release date for the DVD set.
