I was expecting worse, still over 4 million viewers.
Still beats Friday Night Lights.

Friday is a hard night. Dollhouse is going to be a great show as all the plot lines converge. Right now it is just giving us teasers because they can't give everything away at once. Put on Tuesday with Fringe and watch it take off.

I actually dared Fox to move DH because, after Friday's ep (The Target), I predicted it would go the full route (The 5-year plan that DeWitt mentioned in the so-called pilot).

After watching Friday's ep one can honestly say that Joss is back, in a big way. If it were paired with Fringe, as may yet happen if Terminator loses any more of it's audience, Tuesday night would be a lock for Fox. Not only that but Joss just may get the much-needed clout he needs to get some suits attention.

But Hollywood is a strange land, with Fox at the forefront (of strangeness that is); they like to wield the power as you know.

The second episode felt so wonderfully Joss like.... stupid studio making him cut the pilot to ribbons

As long as American Idol runs on Tuesdays that would not be an option. Even Fringe isn't on for several weeks now.

I'd say move it to Thursday's at 9 following Bones when that show returns in March.

It is not those who use the term "Islamo-Fascism" who are sullying the name of Islam; it is the Islamo-Fascists. - Dennis Prager

A concern of the GOP is that the people aren't informed enough to understand their policies, while a fear of the Dems is that the people ARE.

Friday is my TV day. If they move either show away from it's current slot, I'll miss it. Have to save up for a TiVo.

If it's moved, you can still watch it on hulu. Besides, if it gets cancelled, you won't be able to watch it at all! ;)

They should run it after American Idol one night and see what happens.

Word. The pilot felt like some other Fox sanctioned director cutting his teeth, this ep was pure Whedon. I honestly would have taken this ep for the pilot, it would have worked well as a base episode.

Good to see 4mil in ratings. That's pretty damn good considering it's Friday night. Granted I watch on Hulu since I don't have a TV in the dorms (well we do, a community TV, but there's always someone watch Gossip girl or MTV on it, guh) but I like being able to watch DH and T:TSCC back to back. They feel like a nice pairing.

I gotta admit...I'm just not seeing at all what many of you seem to be.

Ep2 was just a remake of The Most Dangerous Game, a short story that's been remade onto film about 50 times. It was stunningly unoriginal material from a guy that's always impressed me with his originality.

I still have faith, but so far the show has been a HUGE disappointment on several levels. Elisha has been...eh, ok I guess. The "did I fall asleep?" meme sounds forced and stilted every time she says it. The FBI agent's role has been shoehorned in, and again is a very, very common plot element.

I guess I was expecting a lot more from a show with such an original idea. So far it's been a very formulaic, common show. Only two episodes so, I hope the REALLY good stuff is still on the horizon.

I'm an old man, but I've never been asked what I watch by the networks.

Frankly I don't trust their ratings scheme any more than I trust their ability to count votes on election day.

BTW all presidential votes are "counted" in secret in NYC by a private corporation. It's all rigged ahead of time. No audit allowed.

Look how they sabotage their own shows, when they want to, or hype garbage and make it a star.

Even "American" Idol rigs the votes -- vote as much as you want, pay as much as you want.

They have agendas that supercede mere sheeple. Poly tics = many blood-sucking vampyres.

My TV show gets the highest ratings in the history of cable access in my city, with over 3-million downloads, Hollywood award winner featured on History Channel, yet I was banned this month.
http://piratenews-tv.blogspot.com/2009/02/pirate-news-tv-banned.html

It's illegal to censor cable access for "political reasons", so they try to use "breach of contract" in a rigged "court", using a "secret informant" who is never identified for cross examination.

I bet network TV is not much different. Quality of the show means nothing. Look at Jackass (Johnny Knoxville is from my Knoxville). Even his Nitro Circus has exploded 5 urethras.

At least I can sue in fed court for injunctive relief. I wonder if Joss could sue for reinstatement based of fraudulent ratings? Hint... FIREFLY LIVES!

FOX exec:
Sir, we have that pilot from Mr. Whedon. Shall I run it for you, Mr. Yenehc?

Cheney (darkly lit to conceal features):
I have already seen it. Make him re-do it. By the numbers. *snickers*

FOX exec:
But sir, it seems like a winner to me.*gulps*

Cheney:
I say who wins on this station. Me. I am the decider.
Mr. Whedon will not be allowed to premier with his best work.
We must draw it out...let him fall.

FOX exec:
Sort of what Dick Cheney did to George Bush, right, heh heh?

Cheney:

Why...yes. A genius, that one. [evil music begins]

FOX exec:
But sir, how will our network profit from Whedon's failure?

Cheney:
Boy, the value of another creative Liberal losing credibility with the entertainment establishment cannot be measured in mere money.
