Okay guys...I've tried selling this thing 6 ways to Sunday. I need the cash, and I'm starting the bidding dirt cheap ($.99). Now I KNOW you guys want this thing. So this is your chance to get an awesome Firefly collectible.

Keep in mind that a small piece of the gun was broken off, but it's been glued and painted so you barely notice it.

Also keep in mind that I originally paid $150 for this thing ( www.quantummechanix.com), so this is quite a find.

Well, I too am poor six ways to Sunday, but I've at least put it on my watch list. Maybe I'll get it for a Christmas gift for someone if the price is right. How much were you hoping to get for it on eBay?

Well what I hoped for was to sell it at about $100, getting most of my money back, and taking into account that it's been broken. Unfortunately no one was interested in that price.

What kinda sucks is that this is the only Firefly website out there to post this type of message (unless someone has a suggestion).

Actually, it'd be great if someone could mention this over at the Sci-Fi channel's Firefly forums, because for some stupid reason I can't log in there anymore.

$100 is a reasonable amount for a broken replica that has been nearly flawlessly repaired. I can't afford that much, but I hope you can get that price. And, you just might get it considering that it's the holiday season. Good luck!

Oh, believe me, I understand. I bought that thing when times weren't so tough, but with the economy the way it is now, I need the cash.

This won't really help you but I would definitely take this off your hands, and I'd be happy to pay the $100 you hope for. I would have had one before from QMX except for one very big reason....

There's no way I can risk it through customs to get it into the UK. Even if you were to offer the service it's just too darn risky for such a realistic, one-piece firearm. The gun/weapon laws are just too tight over here, and it's the prop collectors that are suffering. The real guns - the ones that actually kill - will still be getting through and always will.
There's no way I'm paying an amount of money for something that may (probably would) get confiscated. And then I'd probably get them knocking at my door to see what other props I have.
No thankee siree.

I do hope you sell it though as it is a lovely piece. Think of it as your own personal Lassiter.

All the best.

EDIT: You could try the RPF (Replica Prop Forum). They have a selling area, and a lot of them are Firefly fans. Whitefall is one of the members and he is the one that did all of Mal's and Serenity's paperwork. May be worth a shot (pun intended).

That really sucks. I can't believe they would make such a big deal about a piece of plastic shaped like a gun.

Well, it would cost an arm and a leg to get it shipped out to you anyway, so don't feel bad.

Thanks for the link though :)

Well apparently, the RPF isn't accepting new members for some reason. I tried to register, and it just says that the administrator has disabled registration. I don't suppose you could make a post for me, linking back here or to ebay, or maybe talk to someone there so I can register.

I just had a look around the RPF and if I remember rightly registration is only open at a certain time and for a short amount of time. Stupid but that's the way it goes and it does stop casual passers by joining up that never go there again. Plus if you hit lucky and managed to register you have to be there for 90 days and make 20 posts before you can put items in the Junkyard (the marketplace).
As for posting a link to your auction then that is a definite no-no and is frowned upon highly. Again to stop the casual passer-by but also to stop people scamming others. The prop world is full of 'recasters' who take others work, do an inferior copy and pass it off as their own or as the original. In a scene where props can go for thousands of pounds/dollars you can understand why everyone wants to be careful.

Sorry I can't be of more help. If I think of anywhere else I will let you know.

VEGETA13613

Wow... $56 and about 12 hours left. A great price for such a nice piece of memorabilia. Like so many before me have said... I wish I could afford it. I might try a bid before the end, but cash is getting tight and it's about out of my price range now. If vegeta13613 wins it, that's me. I'll check again in a few hours and see if the price is in my range.
Oh, and thanks again for your Save Firefly site, FongLuh. You've been doing a great job.
