I'm sure most fans here have the ONLY official shirt with the Serenity logo on it...black short sleeve. I have 3 as well as other unofficial "Serenity/Firefly" shirts that, as good as they are, do not have the official logo due to copyright law.

I can't list the number of times that I've worn my Serenity shirt out and discovered other Browncoats. This always results in privileged treatment. Many times my wife and I have walked into a crowded restaurant while wearing the shirt and been seated immediately, ahead of the line, by a host or hostess who were fellow Browncoats. And I live in the hinterland/sticks of the flyover zone in Southern Illinois. Apparently, we're everywhere and in numbers.

My point is this. I want to buy a long sleeved shirt and sweatshirt with the official Serenity logo on it like the one on the short sleeved, black shirt. Unfortunately, it's not made. I even copied the logo from online and designed my own "Serenity" sweatshirt at several online shirt stores like Zazzle but to no avail. They won't do it because of copyright infringement.

If money is the driving force that would help bring back Firefly or another movie then it seems to me that if more shirts, etc. were made available, we Browncoats would gladly buy them in numbers that would make an impression on the powers that be.

So the question is, who owns the copyright to the official Serenity logo and how can we convince them to offer a variety of shirts available with the logo on them? I would even be willing to pay a copyright fee for the right to put the logo on a few shirts of my own through Zazzle if I knew who to ask for permission.

i assume you're talking about the serenity logo as featured on the side of the ship?

like this:

shirt/85339542
# ?

if so (or if not) try out cafepress, cuz you can make/buy just about anything there. they have sweatshirts too.

No, I'm talking about this:

It's the one on the side of the ship.

I already have the shirt you referenced and like it but it's not the one with the licensed logo.

Thanks

Try an iron on transfer. They hold up better than you'd expect. Especially the ones for dark shirts.

ah the one with the name on it. i totally forgot about that one XP

i agree with mic, an iron-on transfer would work. if you have a picture of that logo on ur comp though, you could probably get it mocked up on a shirt on cafepress...or at least give it a shot

Look at your local Walmart/Office Depot/Target etc type store and you'll likely find the dark inkjet iron-on transfer paper too.

It's very easy to do. Take the design, make sure it's the right size with an image editor, load the paper correctly in your printer, print and then iron it on according to directions. It does work very well.
