Darn you being all fast like a freak.

Bah today is a slow work day for me. And the world series of poker europe webcast is on their dinner break for the next 2 hours. What am I supposed to do in that time? Work or something? Actually I'm just stuck waiting on other people to get their act together before I can really do much. I hate times like this.

Rofl MsB, that sign is awesome. Extra awesome because that N could easily be switched to an M and no one would ever have known how dumb the person was. So it's not a momentary lapse in spelling, they're really that stupid.

Mmmmm, muslin... Lovin the sewing right now. And I'll see what I can do for pics. I'm altering hubby's "puffy harem pants" right now, because they are, apparently, too puffy.

Nah, it isn't, unfortunately. I missed my one chance to try out Americone Dream. Sigh.

No these days I'm restricted to organic ice cream that uses evaporated cane juice instead of sugar or corn syrup. So that means 4 flavors of Ben&Jerry's Organic, and another brand I just found called Julie's Organic. Really yummy stuff though.

You probably shouldn't emcourage me to mayhem... really pissed at another consultant who went bonkers 'cuase stuff from one office got moved to hers and she pitched a fit and now our boss( the micro manager) is all upset and we can't so much as move a file without her approval... plus I got to spend my lunch moving furniture( sigh I was so excited that I might get time for lunch)and I got to be blamed and criticized for the previous funriture moving because I happened to be in the office when the tech moved it ( under orders from someone else that I won't rat out 'cause she doesn't deserve to get yelled at) and apparently my presence was enough to make me the one who authorized it...sigh

You know what's fun? Leaving a shit-ass job because the execs fucked it up so badly, and yet not having your email address removed from the "Staff" list. I get all kinds of fun emails, sometimes just notices about the pizza being delivered and in the conference room, and sometimes things like what I got today: a request for feedback from the team on a very well thought out 5+ page analysis of the product from an outside consultant.

This consultant happens to be someone I know and trust and have worked with before, and who is generally frickin awesome. We haven't talked about the specifics of this product since the very beginning of its life, around the beginning of this year. And in her incredibly detailed 5+ page analysis she points out everything that I spent 8 months telling the execs was fucked up about their product. Everything! It's so nice to see, especially since I'm totally not suppose to be seeing it. And since I know her rates are pretty steep (and deservedly so), it fills me with glee to know that they paid her for that opinion, on top of paying me for 8 months of my opinion.

Now I get to continue to lurk on the Staff email list and see what happens next. I really hope someone replies to all with their thoughts on her feedback. It'll be interesting to see if they take any of it to heart -- my guess is no. So entertaining.

Glee!

So I wonder what their excuse to teh higher ups will be...see we hired this person and she told us all this is wrong but we didn't believe her so we hired a consultant who just told us the exact same thing...

I wish I could do that when they finally decide to just totally eliminate my department. We've been shrinking ever since I got here and sounds like we'll shrink down to 2 people next year. I wonder if they realize they're handing us all the power? Pretty much that will leave us with no one left who knows what either of us do and how we get our product out the door. It will be interesting to see if I decide to just say something like "hey I'm thinking of finding a new job unless you make it worth my while to keep you from having to explain to upper management why you just killed the release"

I'm sure eventually they'll just decide they don't need me at all and then when they find out why they need me there will be emails flying all over the place trying to figure out how to recreate everything. It would be great to be a fly on the wall at that point.

It's a very small company MsB, so the higher ups were the fuck ups, no one above them. There's the Venture Capitalist firm that backed the company to begin with, but they've been a delightful combo of idiotic and hands-off, so either they don't know what's going on or they don't care. They've also pissed literally millions of dollars away on the stupidest shit since the very beginning, so I'm not sure my 8 month salary even makes the list.

So, thinking about this actually leads me to a ponderable. See, several other core team members left about the same time I did, because of the aforementioned fucked-up-ed-ness. A couple of people we were friends with are still at the company for various reasons, so along with still being on the Staff list, it's pretty easy to hear about what's going on internally currently.

Now despite the glee above, I actually don't spend much time thinking about those guys, but everyone else who left recently seems to still be thinking about it. And talking about it. And rehashing what happened. I just don't care. I want to move on and forget about it already!

It occured to me the other day that this is a bit like breaking up. When a break up (or divorce) happens, some people seem to want to dwell on it, to pick it apart and try to put it back together. I'm just not like that. When it's over, it's over, I'm done, I'm out of there. No more thinking about it, no more talking about it.

Hubby and I were waiting in line at Disneyland a few weeks ago, and heard a teenage girl on her cell phone, obviously in the midst of a break up. She kept saying that she thought he at least owed her an explanation. I kept thinking, no, he doesn't. It's over, move on. Knowing what he was thinking at that party when he wouldn't tell you or whatever the hell she kept crying about isn't going to make you feel any better in the longrun.

Anyhow, so the ponder: What's your breakup style? Do you prefer to make a clean cut, including changing your phone number and even friends to separate yourself from your ex? Or do you find you need more of a gradual disentangling of the relationship, kind of like the mirror image to how we usually ease into a relationship? Or something else?

Clean cut. Not changing numbers I've never hated someone I broke up with. If they needed to call me for something I'd still want them to be able to and I'd probably be willing to be there for them to some extent. At the same time I don't want to just chat. I don't want to be friends. I don't want that weirdness. If it's over it's over for good.

Holy crap, that sounds exactly like what my company does.
Maybe I really am CK...! XD

My guess is their "excuse" will be that the consultant is wrong, so they'll find a new one until they find one who'll tell them what they want to hear. At least, that's how my company operates. ((snerk))

Clean cut and cold. I made a weeks worth of meals, did the laundry, packed my things, moved my stuff all before he got home. Then I basically said this doesn't work for me bye. walked out and never looked back. The divorce took 2 months from start to finish...I'd rather just be done with it. All that rehashing is pointless. Done is done.

hmm so a California/Ninja/Kaylee/Hell's Kitten melange???? eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

I'm a dweller for a bit and then I get over it. This is for all types of relationships, friendships, employment, dating, etc.

I do admit to indulging in the 'your better off without the loser' sentiments for quite some time afterward, but whatever. For how unemotional and unattached a person I am, I take rejection pretty bad. :)

Gosh, you all got verbal on me and now I have quite a bit to respond to.

VOTING: do it like in Heinlein's BOOK(not the craptastic movie) where to vote you must serve the country, defending it. And to be able to run for office should be a nomination, but not the current scratch my back I'll scratch yours setup we have now. I honestly don't know what the criteria would be, maybe a ponder for another time?
Can't say I'm happy with either choice this time, just like last time, and the time before, well, anything was better than Bill. Maybe not, seeing how well that's turned out. Why is it the best person for the job would turn it down if offered, because if they wanted it they would have run?
PS my wife said that if Hillary had won the nomination, we were moving to Canada. I agreed. I'm not partisan, but 8 years of one Clinton were bad enough.

Halloween: working, then herding the kids around to get massive amounts of candy. Which they will then have to share.

Breakup: do it, be done, then replay it over and over in the head ad nasueum. While listening to Depeche Mode and Journey love songs, locked in the bedroom, for a few days, then put it all behind and go find someone else. Glad I'm not having to do that now.

'Who are you and how did you get in here?' 'I'm a locksmith. And, I'm a locksmith.'

To follow Gorram's model since I do like having lists ^_^

Voting- well, it's bad choice and worse choice, but if I were able to vote, I'd vote for Obama, simply to NOT have Palin. I cannot tolerate her stance on abortion.

Breakup- I'd say, cut and clean. It's done, it's over, and there's no point in trying to "put a relationship back together after mentally dismantling it" if you don't plan to do just that in rl with your boy/girlfriend!

ack, sorry... brain is happily mush, but that means I can't really word things right anymore... please take the meaning and not what I actually said... if that makes any sence

I would want money.

Fame is over-rated. Sure you get stuff, but you also have people ogling you wherever you go. I wouldn't mind being admired, but I wouldn't want the wierdness that comes with fame.

Quick relationship clarification: If I end things...it's over and done with. If I've been dumped, I'm a dweller. I like having reasons. The first case I know the reasons. Second I may or may not. If I do, it's good. If I don't, I dwell for a bit.
