According to http://tvbythenumbers.com this years Emmy awards drew 12.24 million viewers, that makes it the lowest rated Emmy's show in it's 60 year history. www.zap2it.com has a reveiw that is pretty bad. You'd think with shows like HOUSE & LOST in the running it would have gotten better ratings, but with the show becoming more politcal and dull, alot of people watched "Blue Harvest" on FOX instead.

It was an exceedingly naff Emmy's...I watched it during commercial breaks while watching Bones. It was annoying how the organisers put music over the top of people to speed up their acceptance speeches(they even had the audacity to do it to Tom Hanks and Glenn close...OMG!the arrogance!) ironically there was way too much time invested to some really lame skits and crappy presenter jokes.e.g: the whole reality TV take on the best reality hosts etc...ugh! why has reality TV been included at all...and if it has, where was Beauty and the Geek? (the only "reality" tv I watch). Ricky Gervais's bit and Don Rickles doing his own thing instead of reading the cues were the only parts that were remotely entertaining. To be honest I only watched to see if Dexter or Chuck would get any awards, and to see what everyone was wearing.

blegh!

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I haven't watched any awards shows in many, many years. They are just too dull and last too long.

Award shows are stupid, but they obviously mean a lot to the people that compete for them. I was glad to hear that John Adams won many awards because it was fantastic.

I don't watch award shows and the only reality show I've ever watched was Dancing with the Stars on the BBC where I was really rooting for Stacy Keibler but then did some research and found that not only did she not win but came in third so I stopped watching that show all together.

Dunno if the West Coast had lower numbers than
other parts of the country, but wouldn't be surprised, because of the dumb, dumb, stoo-pid time-delay.

If you're watching to see the carpet, etc. you'll
probably watch it whenever, but if you're holding
your breath about the results, you can get them
in real time by hanging out on the net.

I say show it in real time, wherever, and fix up
the production (a lot) and viewership might improve.

These were the BEST emmies ever, because I think these were the first where a friend of mind (albeit one I've never met off-line) won an emmy. For best news broadcast (regional) if you're wondering.
