I'm just curious how many Browncoats are in my neck of the 'verse. If you're a Canadian Browncoat and you live in Ontario within or near the Ottawa/Carleton area gimme a reply.

I'm not saying we should start hanging out or anything I'm just curious is all. You never know... maybe we might actually get a decent sci-fi convention up here someday or someone might plan a shindig.

Now I don't expect too many replies on this one but you know the saying.... You don't know till you try.

EDIT: Apparently this double-posted so I blanked out the second one.... sorry!

Hey, I'm sort of in your neck of the 'verse, but by way of Vancouver, only 4611 km away. But I studied at Carleton (journalism) so I've got some ties to Ottawa.

This may sound clueless but what does browncoat refer to?

A Browncoat was/is someone who supported the independant faction during the Unification war. (i.e.: Mal & Zoe) It also now means a steadfast supporter of all things Firefly.

Canadian Browncoats are ham, not bacon.

Yah but we still taste just as good.

I think this thread has degenerated from it's purpose a little bit.

It doesn't appear that it's getting many replies to do with it's intended purpose. I guess there's not many Browncoats in my neck of the 'verse.

We're at least closer than Vancouver. We are in Minneapolis, MN. And my sister-in-law is about to make a new batch of Browncoats in Jamestown, ND. She got her DVD set today!!!

No power in the 'verse can stop me.

Oops, yes, maybe it degenerated...I'm not sure how it started out. Were you trying to find out where we all are? I'm in Kingston, Ontario. And I am a ham. Ham I am.

Thank you IrisAnne.

Yes I was basically trying to get an idea of how many Browncoats were in my neck of the 'verse (Ottawa/Carleton region, Ontario, Canada) or in the general area.

It would be nice to know if there are more in my area or just me & a few other people I know. Just in case we ever get a decent sci-fi convention up here or someone plans a shindig.

I'm not gonna start stalking people and pestering them to hang out or anything.

I'm closer than most, but not all that close. I'm in Detroit which is probably about three hours from you folks.

I'm in Montreal 2 hours and change away.
I'd come to a comnvention or maybe we could get one here.

Are you able to tune in the Space Channel from Detroit, LadyJayne? Are you tuning in on Monday nights with Werzbowski and Bocman and me--munching our ham sandwiches and having a little cyber-shindig during the commercials?

A real shindig or convention would be amazing. I'm so jealous of our U.K. contingent! I hope they'll tell us every single detail. With photos!

On the main FF board, there are many Ontarians, including some in central and southern Ontario. You might want to post there. I'm in evil, disreputable Toronto.
