People around me don't realize how major this comic might be.They just think it will tell a simple story of the life of Book. I'm hoping if Brett Mathews show how the 'verse was before the war. Was it mass slavery like Ephraim hinted in Better Days or was it more complicated than that?

I've only heard rumors that Book was getting his own comic, but not much more? I was just wondering where you are getting your info from? Thanks.

I asked a comic book dealer about the Firefly comics and he said they would be collector items.

So you guys who are lucky enough to have them know they will begin to increase in value.

I have a couple signed and I hope to get Moreana and Jewel's at DC. They are priceless to me.

To get back on topic, Joss himself said Book's story will be a comic. I have definite ideas and I'll have to wait to see if I'm right.

I remember in 'Finding Serenity' that someone hinted Book was probably an Interogater/Torturer for the Alliance. It makes sense that book use to be a man who would commit violence without a conscious. Lets look at the facts:

1) In 'Those Left Behind', he left the ship
because he instinctively hit Mal.He
doesn't want to lose his consciousness.

2) At the end of 'Better Days',While everyone
was shooting at the robots,he methodically
took off the head of a robot with a sword.
So he must of fought a couple of them before
in his life time.

3) In 'Objects in Space', why do you think
Jubal Early, a master of martial arts and
intuitive thinking took out Book with such
blunt force?

4) When Book was hurt in 'Safe', he used
his 'Ident card', to get into an Alliance
faclity.(everyone knows that one)

5) In The pilot episode, Book was able to spot
the Alliance mole before Mal did.

But it still doesn't make any sense. In that same episode, Book claimed that he had ridden in a firefly long before he set foot on Serenity. But if the evidence points to Book being an Allince Man, then what was he doing on a ship used mostly by smugglers?

Or he could be an ex-companion that has much grace left over.

/uhm... why is there no smiley for "evil"?

@ number 5 - it may have helped that he was facing in the right direction...

and Fireflys were *now* smugglers' ships. At some point they were probably the right transport for other things too. Some of the extra nooks and crannies probably came through retrofitting parts that were not originally designed for a firefly and left "gaps".

I doubt the original ship designers went "I know, lets make a ship good for smuggling!"

Can't wait for this comic, but I have little hope that it will arrive on schedule. "Better Days" was over 2 years late.
