Uh huh... *adds MsB... soon to be MsNVG... to her list of folk to not house/dog sit for!*

I was just about to go to bed and thought I'd pop in and say hi! It's been a long day and I am pooped!

Love you all - sorry I am not around so much these days, hopefully that will change somewhat... soon...

Mwaaah! Magda x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x

EDIT: Just noticed the ponder! I want to know I have contributed a human being to the next generation, I want to instil values and consideration in, at least one person in that generation... and I want to see a little human being with my chubby cheeks and Frank's blue eyes... or Frank's cheeky grin and my brown eyes... I don't mind which! As long as it's with Frank, it's going to be cute!

Oh - and I have wanted to have a baby since I was 6 years old... so almost 35 years now! I have never wavered, and I have worked with them most of my life! Babies smell wonderful (most of the time) and their smiles could light up the world!

Got to go to bed now...

*Hugs MsB extra tight! (she knows why!) and heads to bed...*

(do you think I could become pregnant via phone sex?)

I agree I would never house-sit for someone like that. It's not like there aren't people who are going to realize that something's not right. and the logic behind calling once just isn't there. Any of the other days could involve an accident so the animals couldn't be taken care of. There could be an accident at home where the refrigerator tips over on me or I get stuck in the washing machine have to sit there until I can cut through my arm with a butter knife to free myself. No one is taking care of the animals then, right?

There's a level of trust and a required need to just let go.

( and hmm that could be very interesting...phone sex pregnancy...wow Frank's quite a guy)

LOL CK I finished about the same time you were typing that ( just went to shower after 'cause I was icky sweaty and grimy)

*does the snoopy dance* Clean house:)

EDIT-LOL Rugbug... ok I get it and if it's someone I really trust or whom I know loves animals ( like NV's mom) I wouldn't do that. For me the fact that you have horses is enough.. those babies are tons of work and make it obvious you are willing to do whatever it takes to care for an animal:)

Holy crap! I am utterly shocked. This may have been the stupidest chain of events I've run into in a long long long time.

So, we have a project planner who sent out an email monday saying a document was due and it needed to have the link activated on a page right? No problem I grab the document out of an email and throw it out on the site done and done. Today she goes out and clicks the link. Looks at the document and sees that it contains a URL to itself. That URL doesn't match the link that she just clicked so she goes and changes the link. Link is now broken. She sends an email saying the link is broken and someone needs to fix it. I go look at it and see that it's been changed. Odd. Oh well fix it. Send her a note that it's fixed. She replies back to tell me it's not fixed because it doesn't match the URL in the document and that's why "SHE changed the link in the first place". AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! You saw it was working and then decided to break it and then complained it was broken when YOU broke it!?! Amazing!!! I've since renamed the document to match the URL in the document itself and changed the link yet again. Now she's happy.

OK I've vented. For now...

Ah Zeek: it's too bad that the people with the authority to say 'fix it' also are in a position that you can't say, 'you fix it, dumba$$, since you're the one that broke it.' It's a travesty, really. I think the world would be a much better place if we could confront ANYONE with their stupidity and not fear reprisal.

There must've been a pizza message sent electromagnetically or some such, because I had pizza last night, too.

The homeowner left a barely touched (two slices gone) pizza for me. Even had my name on it. Pooh on her. I want to be mad at her. I think I still am, although I'm so tired I'm not sure.

Is it wrong that a blow-up mattress is more comfortable than any bed I've slept on for the last 4 months? I'm actually looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow on the sucker and hope to reach double digits on the clock before I wake up.

I used Bert, my iPod, to wake me up this morning. He is seriously cool. Alarms, games, contacts, notes AND all my music. I LURVE Bert.

RHYIANAN

It looks like we've moved on from the ponder, but I have yet to add my two cents.

My desire for kids stems from my desire for siblings. I am an only child and always dreamed of having siblings. When I became old enough to realize that it was never going to happen, I began dreaming of when I could have my own family, where I would have more than one child. As the time went on, the desire matured with me.

Besides, I love taking care of children. I spent 4 years working in a daycare, 3 summers as a nanny, and financed an entire trip to Europe off of babysitting money when I was in high school. Even as I type, I'm babysitting 4 kids at once.

There isn't anything I find more rewarding than watching a child finally understand something or seeing the wonder as they experience something for the first time. Sure, tantrums and whiny fits aren't very fun, but nothing in life is completely pleasant.

"No power in the 'verse can stop me!"

Rhyianan, you are a girl after my own heart... I wanted to have my own kids when I turned 6 because until then I'd had a new sibling each two years, when I asked Mum about a baby brother she said I'd have to have one of my own... I have always loved working with kids, the time and patience and icky smells and tough days are nothing compared to the smiles, hugs, unconditional love and development you get to experience with them! I have been a nanny for 10 years, and before that I did voluntary work with intellectually disadvantaged children, as well as babysitting, teaching Sunday School, running a youth group and generally enjoying my neices and nephews! I want to know I have made a difference in a child's life - and I do know I have, in many children's lives, but it would be really wonderful to not have to hand them back at the end of the day, or to leave them behind when you move to the other side of the world!

I miss my babies so much!

Ok, I stayed mum, but I gotta say I love having my kids, all 4 of them. Case in point:
my 3 year old, who is usually a holy terror, came into my bedroom(I work at home, and that's my "office"), wearing one of his pullups on his head, so that his face was framed by one of the leg holes. I couldn't help myself, even though I was on the phone with a customer, I just started laughing. His sense of humor is developing, and I get to see him do it. I would miss that if I didn't have my kids. I am the oldest of 7 kids, so you would think that having helped raise my sibs I would not be so happy about having kids, but they are the joy of my life, and I haven't lost myself in them, I just get to help make them productive members of society. but it's not for everyone, and I can respect those who chose not too.

HUGS FLT..oh ok sorry wrong end of the stick and while the wedding won't be Firefly themed we've discussed different things we could do to add a bit of Firefly to the day.

Ok cute baby moment. We dropped by NV's mom's and the kids were there. I picked BabyV up and she looks over at NV with absolute adoration on her little face and launches over to try and wrap her tiny arms around him then strains up and kisses his cheek...how cute is that?

Since we've been talking kids...

A kid in the neigborhood (13 year old boy) brought me a present the other day... It wasn't much, but it meant something to him.

(A little history - our house is the "hang out" house in the neigborhood. When I get home from work, there's almost always 2-8 kids there.)

Anyway, he'd gotten a guitar pick from a band he knew I liked, and he just had to give it to me. I told him I wanted him to have it, but it was important to him to give it to me, so I accepted it.

Just thought I'd share since you don't often hear about spontaneous acts of generousity from teenagers...

Personally I wouldn't say that I was a baby hater, I go very gooey on occassions and bore my friends to tears with stories about by adorable twin nephews, I just know that I absolutely do not have the patience to deal with one 24/7. I struggle keeping my temper in hour and a half long lessons to teenagers! I worry that I would end up strangling a child that I was forced to live with permanently and the law takes a dim view of these things.
Some people just have a lot more patience than others. I have seen mothers (and fathers) patiently play the 'peekaboo' game for up to 3 hours. I'm off after about the 3rd time!

LOL...yeah Em ask me how many times you can sing the Spongebob song in a half hour... ( 74) Repetition is big with kids:)

Ok so morning all...

Rugbug you don't hate babies you just don't plan to have one...not like you go out every night ridding the world of them or something HUGS

Honestly I've seen tons of teenage generosity moments. Best one I've seen is I had an slightyl awkward but very sweet kid in special ed and some of the very cute and very popular girls worked with him in a school play. They liked him and decided it was unfair that others didn't see past the special ed to the great kid... so they took it upon themselves to make this kid popular. Invided him to all the stuff and everything.. 4 years later he was sutdent bodt vice president!!

It was sooo cute FLT:)
