I have sent an email to the BBC and Channel 4 here in England about the possibility of them showing firefly. I gave them a quick overview of what the show was about and have said i would be happy to tell them more about the show if they are interested. I will let you all know if i get a reply.

You know, BBC does Dr Who. Surely they'd be a candidate for FIREFLY.

They also did Red Dwarf which has similar aspects to it as Firefly. Its worth a try just to see what kind of reply i get.

The BBC does its own shows, so would they be interested in showing television shows from other networks?

They showed buffy and the simpsons alot so who knows. Plus they have extra channels that are on digital now like bbc3 so maybe they could fit into a slot on there. Like i said its worth sending the e-mail just to see what kind of responce i get, cant hurt to try.

At the recent Dr Who writers panel - everyone knew ALL about firefly and Whedon's work. And the Dr Who show these days is cluttered with Whedon references. It would be nice if they could show firefly - you're not wrong.

And if they don't show Dollhouse i will not be responsible for the consequences (ie sulking).

a common misconception. The BBC makes very few shows anymore. It commisions existing independant production companies to make stuff - and such companies can also pitch their product to the network.

The beeb will also front money to transatlantic productions (Rome etc) and vice versa.

They also helped out with the final series of Due South when the network in america decided to drop it, another of my fave shows.

think scifi have loaned the rights from sky/fox so you might have to go through them.

October 12th, 1985. Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown.

Also, they show Heroes now too - so there must be an audience for Sci-fi.

Not forgetting Torchwood, the more adult version of Doctor who, which moved onto mainstream BBC because so many people watched it on BBC 3.

If the beeb can, the beeb should, that would be the first thing in ages to make me proud to be british.

Plus of course, the beeb has their new iplayer system, so even if they show it on bbc3, anyone (at least in the uk) with broadband can watch it, for up to a week after it gets shown! The beeb would be fools not to

Anybody who disagrees with any of this violently can do so. But no matter what you do, "You can't take the sky from me".

I hope it works. Something I've been thinking about trying if Firefly is ever shown on a major channel (any freeview channel really) as extra advertising is to send Chris Moyles (Radio 1 Breakfast Show) copies of the BDS & BDM. He loves star wars, heroes etc so I think he'd love our show. If you've ever heard his show and he did indeed love it you'd know he'd plug the hell out of it bringing it to the attention of around 10 million listeners (not including all the online listeners). I was originally planning to try this if Serenity 2 ever got made so more people would hit the box office but as it stands, a re run of firefly would do at the moment.

What do you think?

Well if anybody from the UK can also e-mail channel 4 with the same question then that would help.

TRAVELER

Our Poblic Broadcasting Network is packed with programs from the United Kingdom, so why not share some of ours.

It is always worth a try. I think people in the United Kingdom who have not seen Firefly will love it as much as the fans here in the United States have loved DR WHO and Red Dwarf.

Good Luck;
