I'm not really "into" cars all that much, but I was wonderin if anyone knew of a way to find unusual knobs for a manual gear shift, more specifically, for a pick up truck. Is there anything like a Cafepress type site for trickin out one's ride ?
I checked out a few sites, and it seems the choices are either lame, boring 'standard' parts, or a limited collection of tired old sameness - 8 ball, skull head sorts of options.

Seems to me that a Dragon's head would be kinda cool, or something done in the various Sci Fi themes, or just something "different" .

Pretty narrow topic, I know, but any help would be appreciated.

It's easy enough to make your own from polyester resin or Epoxy resin. Just have to find a female fitting to mold in, put your favorite Captain Tightpants on the bottom or thereabouts, make a mold, pour and you got it.

Ahh...the old " do it yourself " route, eh ?

Might be the only way to get it done right.

Hmmm... I remember seeing something a bit unusual on one of the Honda boards a few years back. This guy had gotten his hands on an actual MiG fighter jet joystick, and adapted it for use as his shift lever.

Of course, being a Honda guy, he just HAD to rig the weapons-fire trigger to activate the nitrous.

No dragons here, but how 'bout a lighted dog?

If you're not that much into the do-it-yourself side of things, find something you like (a paperweight, a pewter statue, etc) and have a machine shop drill and tap it for your shift lever's threads. It should just screw right on after that.
