Hi,

I was really glad that "Serenity" had its FreeTV premiere in Germany last night. Even though I only watched parts of it (it was just too weird dubbed in German), I hope this will also hook new people on "Firefly".
However, I thought the text announcing the film in my TV guide was slightly strange, at least concerning the reason for "Firefly"'s cancellation.
I have translated the text:
2507. After an interstellar civil war the "Alliance" has established a totalitarian regime. The crew of the run-down space freighter "Serenity" unwittingly takes on [this regime] when they take two passengers on board. - Joss Whedon's continuation of his cancelled US series "Firefly" persuades with irony, subversive potential and dry wit - three reasons, why bible bashers [well, actually "Moralapostel", but I think there's no exact translation in English] drove for the series' cancellation on US television."

The reason given in the last sentence strikes me a bit strange. I always thought it was Fox' weird scheduling and the resulting low viewing figures that were the actual reasons rather than any campaigning from conservative groups.

YELLOWJACKET

I have never heard of any conservative campaigning that could drive FOX to cancel anything they didn't want to cancel.
