WHITEFALL

Yarg, the last thread was a bit slowed, and then I forgot for a few days an there's a hundred posts! :-P

Well anyway... to answer people's angry mutterings about Hollywood running out of ideas, it's not so much that they're out of ideas so much as it is that with less and less indie film and more big budget tentpole (for all demographics) studio films, the incentive to take risks just isn't there. In my internship class (the homework for which i desperately need to be doing right now) we are learning about all this stuff, about how it's important for a script to have franchise potential, ie be able to make sequels to capitalize on brand recognition and all that. It's the same with remakes and movies-of-books, they are a safer bet than totally new stuff because they already have a fanbase and such. Oh well, theatrical release movies are dying anyway, so I have learned, so hopefully the Hollywood-on-the-internet will be more original. Not necessarily, but we shall see.

Anyway. Me and my life have been somewhat consumed by making FMVs and watching stuff on Hulu, although I did finish a short film script that i need to go back and edit. So i'm not totally useless, is my argument. :-D But Hulu... soo cool... it has firefly! online! for free! And tons of other canceled fox shows lol and various other things. eeeeevil site. :-P

As for the current ponderings: Emma... I'm not sure what to say, I have similar problems dealing with people sometimes (not presently, luckily) and i AM a teenager (for another few months.) Not sure what to say about the issue since I've never quite resolved it myself.

Blarg, there may be more to talk about besides the MSBNV love fest :-P but I really need to go do homework. FFF has only taken... 25 minutes. that's not terrible...

"Why aren't you asking 100 other guys why they don't write strong women characters?" -Joss Whedon.

HUGS Whitefall... good luck on the homework:)

Hey as long as it takes money to make films and films have to recoup their losses and make a profit. Films will always be set up to have commercial appeal

hey suck it up... happiness is contagious

ZEEK

Ahhh finally caught up. You guys talk too fast sometimes.

Uh...mean co-workers = not cool. I wouldn't care too much personally since I'm not a social butterfly really. Though I can understand how rejection can be pretty hurtful. Really they're jerks though. You shouldn't waste your time on them.

Whitefall it's your job to fix Hollywood. Now go and lead the revolution. While you're at it greenlight Serenity 2 through 80
