I thought rain in southern California in mid-May was illegal, at least during daylight hours? What gives?!

Sigh. Feeling crappy and the weather isn't helping. Pulled the trigger a week and a half ago on all the job craziness, only to have my health flare up last week. I simply cannot do the hours and the stress, so now I'm going to have to back out of it. On the bright side, the idea of getting out from under some of this stress actually feels really really good. Looking forward to that.

Other than that, I love my car, and Iron Man rocks. That is all.

Loved the flick. Got to hear a rerun of Jon Favreau on the Adam Corrolla show while driving to Reno Saturday. I hope he gets to make the movie he wants to make after all this. He said he didn't want to make the atypical hero movie of the likes we've seen lately and I think he really pulled off something great.

I really really enjoyed it, and I'm glad to hear the sequels have already been greenlit.

I had the funniest reaction to Jon Favreau in the film. I saw him in that sequence in Vegas and thought "Oh, the guy from Swingers. Wonder what he's been up to the past few years? Glad he's getting work." It was about two hours after getting back from the movie that I realized that that *is* Jon Favreau, lol. Still enjoyed his performance in the movie, though.

My favorite was the interactionbetween him and Tony Stark. As the driver he seemed very protective not only of Tony but also of RD Jr. Just wish I could have a cool enough boss who'd let me race against him in a Bentley with his luggage to the airport.

The movie was great. The only parts I didn't like were the parts where Tony Stark surviving just about anything that happens to him. Sorry but he would have been crushed a few times in that movie. Still it's a super hero movie so I let it slide and give it four stars.

Now can I be Tony Stark please?

Oh I loved Iron Man. I thought it was a really good example of a comic book genre movie.

CK- I'm so sorry you had to give up on your dream job. HUGS and hope the flares calm when you go back to consulting

OK trying to decide if I should eat this sucker. It's blue raspberry and I am pretty sure it'll turn my tongue blue and I have an IEP meeting to attend at 2...I wonder if the color will wear off by then..

I vote no. "Good things come to those who wait". Or something like that. I think it means the sucker will turn into ketchup if you wait.

Funny. MSB mentioned catsup on chili last night and I scoffed at first but remembered that I like catsup with a chili dog. Might have to try it now.

Oh, good morning ponderers.

CK: The car is adorable. Glad you love it. And sorry about the job and the flare. :(

MSB...just say no to the flu. It is evil and gross.

Zeek: how is the wii game? (was it Mario Kart? 'cuase if so...I wanna come over. 'Tis the only game I like :D)

My world has been crazy lately. I tired of it. Work is busy. Not-work is busy. I literally get home, shower and go straight to bed. It's exhausting. I got talked into getting up at 5:30 on Sunday so I could trailer a barnmate to her first away-from-home show. I SOOOOOOO wanted to sleep and laze the day away. I think I should get huge karma points for not.

Indeed it is mario kart. It's fun but not as fun as it could be. The items just play way to big of a role now. With 12 players per race there are so many items being thrown about that it's just a big crap shoot. Still I like the wii wheel and it is fun to play online some.

Sorry to hear about being so busy. Though sometimes it's nice for a short length of time.

In other Zeek news, my manager just announced she's retiring at the end of the month. Woohoo! No more bad performance evaluations from her! I still have to write up everything I've been up to so far this year for her to report to the new manager. Bah! I'm sure she'll have complaints for whoever they bring in. Though I'll still get to start over and hopefully make a better impression. Don't know what this lady has against me other than she has no idea what my job is about.

Zeebug suggests hurling on the teachers. She is pretty sure you will be sent home tout d'suite.

She also gives you a shoulder squeeze as a real hug might infect her...and wishes you a speedy return to health.

Ponderer: Would you guys ever try to get involved in a friends financial situation? And by get involved I mean try to give advice and stuff. I've got a friend who is awful at finances mainly because she's awful at thinking ahead and planning anything. So, it's like "see money...spend money...bounce check...can't pay loans...bad bad bad". It's really none of my business but it's like seeing a train wreck coming that can be stopped if they just switch the tracks but you know they aren't going to on their own. Argh.

There was this horrible buzzing in my ears all yesterday afternoon. Now I know the source. ;)

Ponder: Don't get involved. The person won't change their ways and it will just be frustrating for both. They will feel guilty when you are around and then they won't want to hang around with you anymore. It's sad, but most of the time, people have to dig themselves a giant hole before they will listen to others and/or change the behaviour.

HUGS Zeek I going to agree with NV and Bug. It won't help. She's locked her pattern. I have a friend who has done the same thing and he's in pretty deep. He's always stressed about money and I'd so love to shove him into credit counseling, but sigh... won't help. He has to see it for himself
If it just gets to where you can't take it... you might anonymously mail her pamphlets from various credit counseling services ( don't put on your return address and mail from some generic post office)

Ok I think I have just eaten the least nutritious lunch ever. I don't want to leave the office and one of my co-workers ran to starbucks so I'm having one of those micro bags of cheetos they put in kids lunches( which I tossed in the drawer from my last training) and a venti iced half caf mocha from starbucks...

[rant]It seems to me that this day and age, people feel entitled to 'things' no matter if they actually have the money for them. A lot have grown up with mom and/or dad buying them whatever they wanted in some desperate need to fulfill some standard of parenting that they didn't expierence. This 'My child will have the best of everything' child-rearing tatic leads to REALLY unhealthy adults with poor work ethics who think they deserve what they want simply for existing. Poopsy-kins has no idea how to work, how to save, or that going into serious debts has serious consequences. [/rant]

but but but...bah. It's just so annoying to watch a friend keep making such terrible decisions. It doesn't help that I'm a tight wad and will probably save money like it's going out of style for my whole life. So, watching her do the opposite with negative effects is just painful. Oh well I guess it's not my problem. I just have to close my eyes, cover my ears and go lalalalalala a lot.
