Does anyone know if there is going to be a Firefly table/panel or anything Whedonesque at the DragonCon in Atlanta this year?

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I am staff at Dragon*Con and I talked to the Director that does the American SciFi. i asked him is he going to do anything with Firefly. He replied probably not unless more details on the movie is out.

We'll have to wait and see

Any chance of letting him know how much the fans want it and having that be a factor? I'm sure there are some of us that would be willing to run some discussion panels and such.

Plus, by then the movie production should be in full swing (if not completed, how long does it take to make a movie?) and there should be lots more info... Maybe we can even get some of the cast out to speak.

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. and there is still a long ways to go so who knows what will happen.

You could email the Track Director aarondunne@hotmail.com and offer suggestions. At this point it is the best thing we can do. :)

One of my friends is organizing Dreamcon in Jacksonville FL this summer. Dreamcon.net has the details. He is planning at least a light Firefly presence. Jewel Staite is asking WAY too much money; another actor's agent hasn't returned multiple calls. Since he already has Peter David lined up, and he was the creator for Space Cases, maybe Jewel will drop her price.

The movie announcement is definitely critical to the value of Firefly guests. Just thought you would want to know of another con with some Firefly Shindiggity activity within 4 or 5 hours of Atlanta.

He's also trying to get the other guy from Two
Guys and Girl. Maybe Nathan would come for THAT reunion!

Heck, I'd be more than willing to even interpret for any deaf/hard of hearing folks that wanted to attend a Firefly track... (I have the training, I have the technology - well really it's just my hands, not technology, but you get the idea...)

I go to Dragon Con every year. There was little in the way of Firefly this past September, I suppose mostly due to the cancellation and no news on the movie and only rumors of the DVD set at the time.

I think a panel discussion would be cool, especially if someone from the cast or crew could show up to talk. Maybe a Firefly viewing party to spark interest in those not familiar w/ the show.

I know I am going in costume this year as a Browncoat and will have info with me on the DVD set and any movie info we have by that time to share with those interested.

I went as a brown coat last year. People asked who I was, I said an extra on Firefly.

I plan to go again as a Browncoat....I'm waiting for my gun and holster to come in. I'm also going to be a mercenary for Niska or something like that.

Sorry I missed you at the Con this year. It would have been cool to see another Browncoat.

I am having a replica of Mal's gun made by a friend for my costume. The holster I will have to make myself.

Replica of Mal's gun. That is cool. I'm just using a standard Colt 45 non-firing replica.

CHANNAIN

i DO aim to misbehave

I'll be browncoating at MarsCon in March. A short coat for the Art Room in order to comply with my own rules, a long coat for the halls and party rooms. Both will bear my Yin Yang avatar on the back so I can be more easily identified - provided there are any other browncoats around to identify me, of course.

I'm the crazy person running the art show. Planning to plaster the place Simon posters too, since our theme is "doctor" oriented.
