It's not exactly that it will "fund" a sequel, but the money will still go to Universal. The theory of many of us is that if Versal makes enough cashy money on the BDM, they'll be way more likely to make us a Big Damn Sequel.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I don't think it matters which version of the movie you buy. Money is money, and that's all the suits seem to understand. That goes for any licensed merchandise, not just the movie dvds. The comics, action figures, Serenity ornaments, ship blueprints, etc., are all sanctioned by Universal and they reap a bit of profit off each sale. One of these days someone is going to realize that Serenity is a proven cash machine, nowhere near the realm of profit of something like Star Wars or Trek, but still a very reliable and consistent money-maker.

It might be better, but, if you can't find the CE, you can't find it. As has been stated before, money is money, and every little bit helps.

Right, like the man said: I you can't do something smart, do something right. :) And buying a Serenity DVD is definitely doing something right!

Alas, the collector's edition has not been released in the UK and is not currently scheduled to be. Sorry about that. You can always import though.

I always prefer the Region 1 US (NTSC) version over the PAL vers anyway, so yeah, you may as well import it (Or get it from Ebay) and buy a cheap multi region player for 30 quid or so. For all my favourite films I always make a point of getting the Region 1 DVD.
The PAL DVD of any cinema release will always run at a slightly faster speed than it should EG Serenity NTSC vers 1hr 59 - PAL vers 1hr 54. Speech and music is noticeably quicker (and slightly higher pitched).

Well, the trouble with importing is - i've got the Dvd now, so theres not too much point in doing so

and US dvds can be a to play on Uk dvd players.

I remember buying the matrix trilogy and discovering it didnt work
