So I'm pretty sure we all know about the Captain's new(ish) movie White Noise: THe Light. I finally got a chance to see it today. So about 20 minutes in Nathan's character Abe is talking to his friend about this new ability he has. THe exchange goes something liek this

Abe: It's not a super power

Friend: Call it what you want Abe, but that sure as hell sounds like super-hero Captain Tightpants bulls**t to me.

Needless to say, I freaked out. In all my browncoaty glory

Sikrea,

Did you watch Nathan tour the Haunted Mental Aslum yet? That was so funny. Pure Nathan.

STOWEAWAY

You might need a spoiler alert in the title of your post. Even Nathan asked for people who saw it to save the surprise for Browncoats who hadn't seen it yet. Or at least I think I remember him saying that in an interview.
In any case, I've seen it and loved that moment. Our Browncoat gang watched it together the first time. Had to back it up and play that part again.

SWEETESTHAT

Actually, that quote was mentioned a while back, when WN:tL hit the theaters... sounds funny though.

So... we all know Nathan was great , but was the movie itself worth renting/buying?

(I know, bad me, not running right out to support our Captain... but I'm snowed under with DVDs I still haven't watched yet, much less all the movies I haven't bought... if everyone says it's good, I'll bump it up to the top of my to-see list.)

"Shock treatments and labotomies". Every time I hear those words now I burst out laughing. I wish every director would give Nathan a camera and let him loose on the set. The result is always so good.

I really liked the WNTL. It was so totally different from anything I've ever seen him in and confirmed for me that Nathan can do any genre of acting.

I really enjoyed the movie, except personally the ending was kindof eh, but at the same time i liked the direction it went in, which sounds contradictory but...yeah.

Anyway I definatly think it is worth at least renting. I just rented it, but I'll probably end up buying it when the opportunity arises, IE not having to pay for this semesters books.

I would have to agree that the ending is a little weak. But the movie itself is a good showcase for Nathan's talent. And Katee Sackhoff is good too.
WN:TL isn't in the "summer blockbuster" category but I consider it better than a B-movie. It was creepy enough to make me jump a few times.
I would second the opinion to rent it first and perhaps buy it later.
But it's definitely worth the time to watch it.

ECGORDON

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I thought Nathan and Katee did a good job with a weak script. I did like the ending though, the logical conclusion, which a more conventional Hollywood film would have tried to change in some way.

I'd give it no more than a 3 out of 5, worth renting but not buying, imo. Sorry, Nathan.

POWEROFTHEVERSE

If it weren't for Fill, and Starbuck, I would have walked out on it. Mal and Starbuck, as previously mentioned, do great with a weak script. The problem is that throughout the whole movie I was waiting for that feel of development, for the movie to take off, but it never happened. So instead I just indulged myself with Mal being back on the big screen. That Starbuck, she had already slept with the whole battlestar crew, and is now aiming for our Mal! She's trying to hurt our Inara! I'd love to see Starbuck try to go for Wash! Hah! Zoe would rip her limb from limb after a long and threatening glare.

The captain-tightpants thing was the best part of the movie.
