I am a UK Playstation 3 owner and am deeply disturbed that Serenity is not available on Blu Ray disc.
Serenity is such a beautiful looking movie, it's out on HD DVD, so why can't Universal Studios please all the fans and release it on Blu Ray?
Are we PS3 owners supposed to suffer with not having a hi-res Serenity?
Maybe FOX dvd should release Firefly on Blu Ray with all new extras and neat stuff. Now that would be SHINY!!!

At this moment in time, Universal no longer are bound exclusively to HD DVD but they haven't signed up to Blu-ray either. However, it is likely they will do so this. I guess a release on Blu-ray could be interpreted as a positive signal as they would have to redo the release for Blu-ray which costs money so they wouldn't do it unless they thought the franchise was bringing them money.

Maybe we should start up a petition or something like that, show the studios that the fans want and deserve more, maybe that would even garner more interest in a sequel!!

I think that by the end of 2008, that all the studios will be releasing their movies on Blu-Ray, so it's only a matter of time. Since Universal was the only studio to go HD instead of Blu, I think they'll be the last to change. Paramount had a clause in their contract to go back to Blu under any circumstance, so their shift back to Blu will be quicker.

But when Universal does go Blu-I think that the movies they first released in HD will be their first Blu titles, so I think we will be seeing SERENITY in Blu-Ray, which is good for me since it cuts down on shelf space. The Collectors Edition is thicker than the first DVD.

Thicker yes, but oh so Shiny!

I'm putting off getting a next gen dvd player.(happy i did since HD DVD is dead and that's the one i think i would have bought) It just seemed to be so expensive to replace all my favorite DVDs with an HD format. But if Serenity is released on Blu-Ray it'll be the first one i buy even if i don't own the player yet. Same thing with Firefly.

Dear 'deeply disturbed' E1 ,

Go to Amazon.com and search for

'Serenity Blu-Ray'...Jeff Bezos ain't no idiot ;

he's got his own space program...It won't

actually show up , but if we demand , he will

supply...Incidentally , when you do this search ,

Firefly Blu-Ray DOES show up...Be sure

to add it to your 'wish list'...and It

WILL Happen !
