What a nice surprise to find Firefly in my morning paper.

It doesn’t say anything that we don’t already know, but it’s so nice to see it in a newspaper that I know so many people read and for it to also mention the possible movie. Don’t know if you can find this somewhere else on-line, but I was too lazy to look so I just gave it a quick scan. For any of you Firefly fans who get the Columbus Dispatch, it’s in the accent section, D7.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Looks like they quoted word for word from the CNN article.

Very shiny to see Firefly in the paper. Hopefully all of this press will pay off for the show, cast, Joss, and us.

Yeah, the article's nice and all that...but what's with the picture? It's the scene in "Objects In Space" but they're not wearing helmets or gloves. Was this taken during a rehearsal? Is it a Photoshop composite from other scenes?
I think River is trying to kill me with her brain.

I've been wondering about that picture too.

That article appeared in my local papers too, seen it all over now.

Good article. Read it somewhere else b4. Think picture IS from a dress rehearsal. Maybe to get actors comfortable with movements in suits prior to actual filming. (For choreography)

Or it's only a mild vacuum. Any true browncoat would just shrug it off.

History doesn't always repeat itself. Sometimes it merely shouts "Weren't you listening the first time?!?" and lets fly with a club.

It was in my local paper too. It's a story from the Associated Press that any subscriber to their service can pick up and use. Thus it's showing up all over the country as various news outlets find space for it.

Much good publicity for Firefly.

It must be a pic taken in between takes or something. It is the same pic CNN had for their article yesterday.

Some seem mystified that this article has appeared many places. The writer's credit says "Associated Press." The AP does two things: Generates its own stories, and takes stories from its subscriber newspapers and shares them with other subscribers. Pretty much every paper in the US is an AP subscriber. So whether this story started with an AP staffer or at a single member paper, it went out over AP's entertainment wire and has been picked up, apparently, by quite a few outlets. The image (and possibly others) would've gone out over the wire, too.

Which means, by the way, that hundreds more entertainment editors saw this article and didn't have room/interest to run it ... but they saw the Firefly reference, which means the NEXT story to refer to the show might stick in their brains, and on their pages/sites. Newspaper editors are an astonishingly sheeplike lot, esp. in the features sections.
