I was just wondering if anyone is still sending wavecards to Universal...?

It seemed like a great idea, and I was hoping that it would be more than that - I want a sequel, and I'm not ready to give up yet.

Have we thrown in the towel? Are we not browncoats?! We need to bet back up, and show these people that we exist, and that we have as much cashey-money as anyone else!

It seems grim, but come on, that didn't stop us before!

Let me know if we can revive this wavecard thing, and get us a Big Damn sequel.

I'm all for it... I was a little late with the thought but I figured it'd be great to organize a mass mailing of them for the holidays. Maybe we could do the same for the Can't stop the serenity charity events this summer?

I have read various posts on the wave card idea. From what I can tell it isn't very organized. Someone needs to point us all in the right direction.

STOWEAWAY

You're right, it wasn't a hugely organized movement in the sense that we all sent them on the same day. We didn't want to overwhelm anyone with massive amounts of mail (thinking that would be more annoying than inspiring).
But I would like to think that a good number got sent. Our local Browncoat group sent out nearly a whole set of wavecards. I saved a few out to keep for souvenirs. Only QMx would know how many were purchased -- only Universal knows how many were received.
You can pick up your own set at www.quantummechanix.com. The artwork is awesome -- you won't want to send them all.
Fill out a card and have all your Browncoat friends do the same. Give them some demographic info or tell them a funny story about your love for Serenity.
Then mail them out to Universal so they can get a sampling of how many fans are still waiting for a sequel.
Hang on and let me see if I can dig up the Universal address. Be right back......

Here it is:
Universal Pictures
100 Universal City Plaza
Universal City, CA 91608

and the original thread:

There isn't going to be any pep rally for this one. It's just a matter of doing it.
In my experience, people aren't hugely inclined to mail things. So to motivate my gang, I pre-posted the cards with postcard stamps and took them along to several shindigs. I had an index card with the Universal address printed so they could copy it onto theirs. All they had to do was write their message and I whisked it away to the post office.
I would say that even if you only send one, that's still a significant contribution to the project. For every card Universal receives, they assume there are many more who didn't send one. You are a representation of your community. So get to it!
