:D it's a cool shirt. A nice easy way to 'dress up'. I donno, you could do something nice and simple like just getting a witch hat and warning the students to be extra nice.

MsG, if you cooked and sent a meal, that would be awesome, but since that isn't really possible, I'll just have to settle for a few more of your recipes.

Going well here Tex. I just wish one of my co-workers didn't act like a combination of Grif and Caboos all the time.

Goram: sounds cool! No idea for a cheap version of the gun but maybe hit a toystore and do a little work with paper-mache to reshape it, and some of that 'metalic' paint you can get at craft stores?

Hi all,
I have a few questions regarding the government of the Verse. First off it is called a Republic, but is it really a republic? The United States of America is a Republic which means that we are all regionally represented and most importantly in a republic our rights are supposed to be paramount. (I know recent events may have shaken that belief) Given this frame work for a republic does the government which rules the Verse meet those requirements? Are the outer moons represented?

If it does meet the requirements of a republic are the moons represented but in a limited way sort of like the southern states after our civil war?

Were all of the planets and moons terra formed at the expense of the republic and then the outer planets/moons decided they didn't need that government any more, or did the outer planets and moons have to terra form themselves and then the “Republic” said they were going to join? If the latter were true, then wouldn’t the war have been a war of conquer rather than a civil war?

From what I've read, the inner planets were terraformed first, then the outer planets/moons. It seems to me that it was at the cost of the Alliance(or whatever the name was before the war), and that they tried to control the planets they "paid" to terraform. So, nominally, they were part of the republic, settled by immigrants from the inner planets. One reason they went to war was because they didn't really have any representation in the government. They "told them what to think, what to say. Don't walk. don't run"
My opinion. Please any more educated browncoats, enlighten us.

Good(ish) day!!

Barkeep! I'll have a bucket of Guinness please.

The mind may embrace chaos, but humans are seriously hard wired to find patterns and function better with some kind of order. After all, if your spleen were to suddenly turn into a Christmas Pudding or a geranium in a flower pot you'd be pretty screwed. Don't take it too hard RIMG, just toss some confetti and watch where it lands. There's a pattern, but it's pretty randomized and can feel like chaos.

So if the Republic did pay for the terra forming of the planets and moons, then don't they have the right to say how those bodies are governed? I know this cold be a sticky thing to say around here, but I am only trying to understand stuff.

The war is based on our civil war, and in some ways I could see where our revolutionary war could be compared to this situation. Basically Britain did spend lots of money on us and did tell us how to run our government but then it started taxing us as subject of the king and did not give us proper representation causing the war. Hmm, I must think on this.

I find myself thinking, 'No taxation without representation' but not a specialist area of history for me.

So hey all, about to embark on another fun day at work. Hope you're all doing well.

If any of you are good at naming things/interested in words then listen up, my band are wrestling with trying to find a new name and I'm canvasing for ideas from pretty much anyone I meet including random stranger in the street. We're not too genre specific (very heavy metal band but now with melodic vocals) and just looking for ideas so if anyone is sat there thinking I love the words onomatopoeic, affront, nebulous or I've always wanted to listen to a band called, the beloved light of the genetic predator then here's your chance because I suck at this!

About the band names, that made me think of a scene from PCU.

Katy: What about Naugahyde Windpipe?
Cecilia: Too metal.
Raji: Oedipus and the Mama's Boys.
Cecilia: Too college radio.
Deeje: My Johnson Is 12 Inches Long.
Cecilia: Interesting, but I don't think it's a band name.

Band name: Doppler Effect

(ok that was influenced by the new comedy The Big Bang Theory).

Will ponder that today. However, lots of bands take their names from other bands songs who influenced them. So maybe something like "Morbid Tales" if Celtic Frost is an influence, etc.
