Haven't run this one in awhile, and with all the new browncoats around these days, I figured it was about time.

If you have the obsession as badly as I do, then just about anything reminds you of Firefly. There's a new thread now about music that brings it to mind. Someone once mentioned one of Johnny Depp's lines from Pirates of the Carribean, about how a ship is freedom. And strawberries! Can't look at a strawberry anymore without thinking about you know who.

So what's made you think of Firefly? For me, the most recent was a HI-larious movie called The Cheyenne Social Club. Jimmy Stewart's character inherits property from his late brother, only to find out it's an upscale whore house. Naturally, there's a gun battle at the end, due to Jimmy having shot some no-account who beat up the lead girl at the social club. Henry Fonda is in it too as his talkative, pecan-munching trail buddy Harley. I spent the entire movie being reminded of Heart of Gold and wondering how the Serenity crew would have handled the situation.

HERO

I'm a govt attorney. All year I've been collecting my most annoying cases in an 'Annoying File". These are people whose stupidty has given me fits and reduced the hair content on my head. Its simple: we do a job (as in provide utilities) we get paid.

Carrying out my duties without passion or prejudice is the sign of a great govt attorney. I enjoyed suing these people, so I'm just an ok govt atty. I also arranged to have them all served on Christmas Eve...guess I'm just not a nice man.

Nice soccer Mom lady came in for a DUI pretrial, perfect record, just barely at the legal limit, sent her to jail...she was crying. Later thought I should have told her that I make everyone cry, like some kind of monster.

Many things remind me of Firefly. 形奇怪的;奇妙地;外国的...

I have a soft spot for bad boys - did I mention that?

One of my cousins brought a grape salad to Christmas dinner. Basically, it's green and red grapes in a yummy caramel sauce. The grapes are impossible to eat with a fork, and I dropped three before I declared my food "problematic" and went for the spoon.

My mind moves fast and linear (Well, I think. It won't tell me), so anything can lead to another. You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, will remind me of Firefly. Strawberries, browncoats, duster coats, blue, suns, blue suns, many more. Hats like Jayne's, dark places (I have a fear of Reavers), Star Wars, etc.

First there was bluegrass/zydeco on MPR after the news this morning. Then when the snooze came back on (again) some poor soul was playing the hammered dulcimer. I didn't listen. Just hit the button, smiled and thought, "Good on you, Nandi" and found myself dreaming of Mal...

Visiting the Least I Could Do Web site today to see what all the hubub was about (Jewel Staite being posted as the daily hottie), I saw this e-mail in today's strip:
