Okay, okay, I know every episode is special, just like Buffy and Angel, but what I mean is that with Buffy, he did a silent episode, a musical, etc. Angel even got turned into a bloody puppet for a whole episode.

While I don't think he'd've done anything like those for Firefly (although it is funny to picture Jayne suddenly bursting into song and dancing out of nowhere), but what could he possibly have done?

Would he have done one like The Body, if Book or Wash had died in the series?

I don't know what got me thinking about this, but I can't seem to stop.

Buffy: I'm just worried this whole session's gonna turn into some training montage from an '80's movie.
Giles: (sighs) Well, if we hear any inspirational power chords we'll lie down till they go away.

"They talk about me in the chatty rooms?"--Angel

"There's a hole in the world. Feels like we ought to have known."--Spike

I would have liked Joss to mimic a Shakespeare comedy. They did this years ago on TV show called "Moonlighting". They did a parody of "Taming of the Shrew." I you ever saw it you would never stop laughing.

For "Firefly", Joss may have choosen "Much Ado About Nothing." There are others, but this one deals with conflicts of love, which abound in "Firefly."

Shadow puppets (as per the theatre scene from Heart of Gold).

Or maybe an entire episode focusing on the trials and tribulations of Stego, Trike, Bronto, and T-Rex.

I could imagine Joss (or more likely Tim) doing an episode that has someone die in a spacesuit in the emptiness of space.

It would be silent and heart wrenching. I would like to think that neither of them would do it to a main character, though.

I like it...One of the crew gets hit in the head and dreams it all....

But how else could it be heart-wrenching, if it weren't a main character? This is Joss we're talking about!!!

well he could intoduce a new character, keep them around for a few episodes and just when we have all accepted them as a crew member BAM!! they're dead
I think Joss has done that many times before,

NOTE TO ALL CHARACTERS IN JOSS' VERSE

Your all going to die and the only one left will be Joss

The only way I could see Joss doing a musical episode is to have a theater troupe either on Serenity or have some of the main characters hiding on planet with a theater troupe.

I think it would be quit einteresting to do an episode that is still very much focussed on the crew but in which they appear very little, like the episode 'Blink' from the most recent series of Doctor Who.
It could possibly be centered around some ordinary Alliance sheriff, not an evil organ shipping maniac or psychotic killing machine but an ordinary guy doing a day job, and his team as they try to track down Mal and his crew after their latest heist. It could have a sort of 'Law and Order'-ish feel to it. Maybe the BDH's are only seen in snippets during gun fights or on security recordings or something.

I may wear brown, but theres a little purple mixed in there too.

Had the episodes gone on i could easily see Joss make a Rocky Balboa type episode for Jayne or a Rambo type episode for Mal. Perhaps a House type episode for Simon. And maybe an X-files type episode for River. ;)

From one thing, learn ten thousand things.

Having an episode where the crew only showed a few times in it would have been interesting. It could really have given a sense of how the crew appeared to other people in the 'verse.

I like your idea Mycroft2.

Joss could have the crew on a smuggling job, where they meet people from different parts of the Allience. Each group of people would give their impression of the Serenity crew. The wealthy businessman from a prosperous planet who wants his goods shipped. Then the small colony that receives the goods. Maybe some people in between that want a take advantage of this illicit job. Each would see the crew with a different perspective. The more I write about this the more I really think this would make a great story.

There is a place here to write your own episodes. You may want to try out what you would this episode would work.
