SoCal Browncoats Present
The First Annual Browncoat Day at Disneyland

October 21st, 2007

The SoCal Browncoats are proud to announce the (official) start of an annual tradition. Last year we had a shindig at Disneyland, and this year we wanted to do the same. But in the tradition of Bats Day and Gay Day at the park, we wanted our own Browncoat Day. So here it is, the start of that tradition.

Right now, we are starting small and just all gathering at the park. We'll do a photo scavenger hunt, meet for a group picture at the castle, and meet for dinner at one of the Disney eateries. The basic info is:

9:30 AM - Meet at the fountain in front of La Brea Bakery Cafe - get your scavenger hunt sheet

10:00 AM - Gather at the "F" of the California Adventure sign and take a group picture

2:30 PM - Meet at the castle for the group picture

6:00 PM - Meet at (undecided) for dinner and the scavenger hunt winners

All attendees are responsible for their own tickets, food, transportation, cameras, etc. We will provide the scavenger hunt clue sheet and prizes for the winners. In the SoCal Browncoat tradition, we will have something for everyone, including the last place team.

In the future, we hope to enlist the California Browncoats help and make Browncoat Day a charity event.

We'll see you there!

That is very cool. My obsession for Firefly is only bested by my love for Disneyworld.

Maybe the east coast Browncoat groups can get one going at Disneyworld?

but i have to say, disneyworld is so very clean, almost the very essence of the alliance. it already owns abc and espn. who knows what else it owns or controls?

But it is a very progressive company. Not too many companies I know give domestic partner benefits. Doesn't seen too Alliance to me.

And since I work for them, if we get an East Coast shindig set up and I can make it, I can even get three of you in for free with me. 'Bout time I get there, after working for them two years and never having been to any of the parks...

Wonderful idea. Hope you get a good turnout.
Almost (note *almost*) makes me wish I lived
a few hundred miles South of here.

I'm into this not so much about the glowball warming as for Dark Skies for astronomers and firefly habitat.

Disney World is not a very convenient place for anyone on the east coast except for those in Florida. It would involve a multiple day motel stay, plane tickets or a very long drive etc.

I would suggest another amusement park that's more accessible to east coasters like Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. or another of the regional parks like Kings Dominion in Richmond VA or Charlotte, NC.
