Out of curiosity I was wondering how many of us are on Facebook.com.

Obviously you don't have to use real names, I'm not gonna try and stalk you over there, but I notice Glad32 in the Addicted to Firefly application and was wondering how other people were doing with the trivia challenge?

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

I hate facebook. So much. I know there are a few 'coats on there, though. Roxy and NavySeils and Magda as well as G32. But... I hated it. Myspace is better

I actually have the opposite reaction. I love Facebook far more than MySpace. I never really used MySpace too much anyways. Bit unwieldy if you ask me. Facebook is easier to handle, can track down people you've never seen in years, and you know whose online at any moment.

I wouldn't mind adding a few more people onto my thing from here. I'm 25 people away from 100, so...

seconded - i know we're a force on it but... it sucks, it's easy to hack - it tracks people and can access their email records - it's ripped ideas from other ventures yadda yadda... it is evil.

You gotta be kdding me. I felt like I was in a small, dark closet and couldn't go anywhere. And hey, guess what? You can track down people on myspace, too. And see who's online (though one can chose to hide online status, which is actually a nice feature too!) You can look people up by name, email, or display name. And you don't have to be on their friend's list or in their 'network' to see their profile (again, unless they have it set that way; there's a broad array of options and settings)

SHAMELESS

I prefer Facebook.

The server's faster, it's more private, it's easier to search for people, since real names are used, and even with the overabundance of ridiculous applications (WHEN WILL IT END?!?!?!?), the format is neat, clean, uncluttered, and easy to read. Sure, MySpace lets you have more control over the look of your profile... but it's so hard to read through that damn glitter and glitz and backgrounds that only work on certain computers so that on others, the text is in the wrong place, you can't read it at all, yadayadayada... ugh. Gets old. Gets really old.

Especially the slow server.

As for the trivia, I'm so far at 5500. But I only played the night I got it.

------------------------------------------
RPG launcher bought in third world country illegally - $10
Landmines - $50 per
Attack/track dogs bred 1st class - $250-500 per
Highpowered assault rifles - $600 per
The look on your face when I show up on your doorstep with a bigfoot - ... Priceless

I prefer Facebook...I find it easier to navigate, and easy to control who sees my profile. Plus they have a Firefly application with quotes, photos, and trivia that you can put on your profile.

Okay, just one more.

You can control who sees your profile on myspace, if you so wish. It can be only users over 18. It can only be your friends. However you want to set it. You can also control who can request to be your friend. They can have to know your email or last name, for example. You can prevent bands from sending you requests. Whatever you wanna do, you can do.

But, since not everyone makes their profile private, you don't have to be someone's friend or within their network to view them. You can make sure you've got the right person without the rigamaroll.

You can search for real names on myspace. Someone's real name, email address, or display name can be used to search. you just have to tell it which you are searching for. Or you can just search an area.

You can have a nifty display name.

You don't have to add an application every time you want to do something.

Yeah, some people go overboard on their profiles. But facebook profiles are B-O-R-I-N-G.

The myspace picture setup is easier and better. I love my camera, so this is important to me.

Really, everything is more straightforward. You wanna do this? *click* Done. You wanna do that? *click* No problem. This other thing? *click* Quick and easy. No "You have to do this first! You have to do this other thing first! You have to set it up just this way!" None of that.

Myspace has blogs.

Okay, I'm done now. Can't much speak for the server; I was on facebook for like two days. But I didn't notice that much of a difference. I got errors and had all kinds of problems. And I couldn't go anywhere or browse anything. There were ten thousand hoops to jump through. And I had no reason to stick around, so I just cancelled it.

ORPHEUS

I'm on both. No real preference, though. I like both for different reasons. To me at least, Facebook seems more grounded in networking and cataloging actual people (which I'll admit is creepy in itself), while Myspace seems like more of a breeding ground for people to be more creative and potentially be people other than themselves. I really have no idea what point I was trying to make.

I don't know about right now, but I know that in the past some of us tried to make a Facebook group for FFF.net users. Checking it now, 'Balls and Bayonets Brigade' has 28 members. I know there are more than that out there.
