Howdy folks. I have been flat out with a million job applications lately, as my project comes to a close at the end of this year. I had 3 interviews in 2 days this week, and got offerred one of the jobs. Its not my preference..so I'm still hoping one of th eothers will come through, but its a step in the right direction. The whole process is stressful, ick.

So a nice stuff drink would probably go down well.

Hey, I just found a very funny Nathan interview on YouTube - youve probably seen it, but it was one I hadnt come across before.

Hey Suz!! It's so good to see you here - I haven't had as much internet access as I like lately, but I am glad I popped in today!

Good luck with the other jobs, but I am thrilled that at least one of your prospects saw a good person when they interviewed her!

Yay for Aussie goodness!

Shiny website!
I've got a friend who does stained glass and lapidary. He's about to get into lampwork and blowing. We're all very excited to see what he comes up with.
Much good luck to you on the job search.

Thanks Guys.

I am crushed. :( I just heard that there was a sci fi convention last weekend in Melbourne, and Alan (Wash) was there. They are few and far between in Melb, but last time I looked into one it was over $300. This one was only $30.. apparently Alan did an hour long Q&A. *sigh* missed opportunities.

Major shpeherd for SG Atlantis was there too....

GorramGroupie, not only do I remember that jingle/commercial (skiing by night) I remember the name of the group that wrote the *original* song: The Hillside Singers.

We had a copy of the Christmas album they cut, and my mother would play it every year. ('Course them bein' her cousins mighta had somethin' to do with it...)

MSG hon, I'm not sure how long it will last refridgerated. Till it looks/smells funny would be a first guess. Could be a last guess too..
You might try roasting and then freezing, which would theoretically give it a lot longer useable lifespan. Or you could put it into something, float it in olive oil, and then put it in the fridge, which would help. Or you could do home canning with it..
Sorry I'm not really being terribly helpful here.

I've spent the better part of the evening peeling several pounds of my harvest from this year and I'm still not done. The fumes may be getting to me! I'm going to whirl it to tiny bits and freeze it in snack baggies. It was either that or dehydrate it, and I'm more confident in the preservative powers of cold.

We went apple picking, then grabbed a gallon of maple syrup, then hit the pumpkin stand. We are spherically enhanced! Tomorrow's schedule is comprised of a train ride to leaf peep with my mom, her bf, my sister and the two niblets, hubby, self and son. Possibly also sister's hubster, but I think he may be working out of town.

I need to wash my pumpkins, but the sun went down. Tomorrow will be warmer and they will dry better.
Did I mention we're having really wacky weather? It's been in the high 70s, which it NEVER does this late in the year, then it bungees into the 50s, then back up to record/near record highs. If those lakes stay warm we are sooooo with the snow thing this year. Warm moist air hitches a ride on a cold front and POOF twelve feet in four days, or four inches a day for two months, or..
You get the idea. We usually expect snow anywhere from oh..now..to Mothers' Day. There are points in the early and late range when we just get a gentle reminder to find the shovels and make sure the snowblower still runs, or not to put the scarves up quite yet, but from mid Nov to mid Apr we do not usually see the ground.
Did I mention it gets very gray here?
I found out (and recently had independent verification) that the name for Syracuse in Chinese is "Snow City".

Kaele's coming for a shindig next weekend! So far it's just her and the kidlings. She should be getting the last of the fall color, and ditto the apple crop. I mentioned briefly somewhere that if there are browncoats we know and love (or tolerate ) who will be in our area for TurkeyDay I will be more than happy to feed/house orphans for the holiday! (Roxy babe! You busy? It's just an hour and a half on the Thruway..)

EDIT: Please make sure to get the roasted garlic OUT of the skins before doing anything with it. Trust me.
..oohchocolocolatedbeans!...
