So...tonight we got to see Clare and her new boytoy play Aladdin ("I can show you the world, shining, shimmering, splendor!") and the weapons officer from Enterprise upset Darth Peter and got throat pinched.

Heres my problem with the ending and the continued importance of Isaac's paintings. Why should I care what he paints anymore now that it won't neccessarily come true? When new york DIDN'T blew up at the end of season 1 it basically means that what he paints is only a possible future, not the actual future. Therefore, the only really important revelations from this ep are that Papa Bennett tagged Clare's boyfriend. Who cares if he may or may not die. Thats a possiblity for all of them.

Isaac also predicted his own death and died that way. I think his predictions are more than just possible. I would call them probable.

But once one is wrong it calls into question the validity of all the other predictions, especially those that take place after the wrong painting, which would seem somewhat dependent on the events of the wrong paiting coming true. Right?

I’m not sure what you’re talking about, but many of Isaac’s paintings came true in quite vivid detail. In fact the only one to not come true, if memory serves, was the explosion, and that took the combined efforts of a half dozen heroes. I think we can assume that Isaac’s paintings foretell a very probable future – one that requires considerable effort to forestall.

I guess what you’re saying is that if there is a dependency between all of Isaac’s predictions then now that the explosion was prevented, predictions following that are no longer probable. And that’s a possibly, but it’s one that hasn’t been tested yet, to my knowledge. That could be the case. It will be interesting to see how this plays out because my favorite character is hanging in the balance.

Actually, when West flew up into the air with Claire, I kept thinking Superman. When he looked at her when they were up in the air, I said in a MST3K fashion, "Lois, I come from a planet far, far away..." I so wish he said that in the show. I hope he did and that it's an outtake on the season 2 DVD.

And I was so happy to be right about Candice and her real form. So many of us called it Colbert-style in May, and now it's come true. And what about Sylar not getting his collected powers back yet. That should be cool, especially with next weeks ep with him and Maya and Alejandro. Maybe they can finally finish the job Peter and Hiro started.

Oh, and Hiro's message in a sword to Ando from almost 340 years ago was awesome. Did you notice that the guy yelling at him was the same guy that grabbed Hiro in the pilot in the office.

Plus, one more bit of geek friendly casting with Nichelle Nichols as Micah's grandma. So far The Doctor, Mr. Sulu, Stan Lee, Alex from CLOCKWORK ORANGE and now Uhura have all guest starred on HEROES, with Veronica Mars coming into the mix in the next few weeks. Plus, you could also count Stephen Tobolowsky as part of that mix as just a really great character actor thrown into the mix as well.

So what other geek friendly bit of casting would you like to see? Maybe one of our BDH's who isn't working on another series (maybe Sean as Sylar's brother. Not a far-fetched idea since in "Six Months Ago" the window of the watch place that Sylar worked at is called "Grey and Sons", so maybe Sylar isn't an only child. Plus, I'm sure some of us made the mistake of mistaking Zachary Quinto as Sean when Eden pulled off his ballcap.), Bruce Campbell (maybe as another company man) and Mark Hamill (as one of the 8 remaining founders of the company to be bumped off). And maybe another Star Trek cast member from one of the older series, preferably one of the VOYAGER actors.

I wouldn't mind seeing Mark Hamill in his Prankster persona (from the old John Wesley Shipp Flash series).

And just because New York didn't blow up yet doesn't invalidate Isaac's body of work. I'd also argue that the Hiro-vs-Carnotaur painting hasn't happened yet (Hiro is holding the sword, not the fake, and the carnotaur's pose is different).

When was The Doctor in Heroes? Don't forget that Malcolm McDowell was also in Star Trek Generations. I'd really like to see Walter Koenig, Shatner and Nemoy to get all the living members from TOS in Heroes.

Chris Eccleston was on the show as Claude, the invisible former employee of the company who worked alongside Noah and trained Peter.

Shatner maybe hard to get since he's on BOSTON PUBLIC, but Nimoy may not be out of the realm of possibility since Zach Quinto is playing Spock in the J.J. Abrams STAR TREK movie. I'd like to see some more TREK actors on the show, but from some of the other series. Like I think Kate Mulgrew and Robert Picardo should be thrown into the mix somehow. And B'Lanna actually directed a HEROES episode already, so...

But I think if you're waiting for a TOS reunion, you best watch the FUTURAMA episode "Where No Fan Has Gone Before". At the time, all remaining TOS actors, except for James Doohan, got together.

And another bit of geek friendly casting that I'm sure won't happen, but would be so cool if they pulled it off, David Tennant. But since DOCTOR WHO is taking a year long break between seasons 4 and 5 so that he can go play Hamlet at the Royal Shakespeare Theater for a year or so. They'll still do specials, but not a full run of 12 eps.

Not necessarily, they may have been dependent on the explosion being prevented. Also, one of them has already come true (the death of Hiro's father), so that one hasn't been invalidated.

Just a notion i've been thinking on, does Sylar have the disease? He does seem to have lost the control of the powers and just some of what Candice said seemed to hint toward it.

...continuing a notion from the old thread over in OSFS. (missed the link to this new one in GD)
on whether or not Peter absorbed Nikki's psychosis as well as her strength:

Buddy of mine just mentioned that Peter's image in the mirror was still bloody right AFTER he had been cleaned up. Hmmmmmm.... I must check this out on my DVR.

Anyone else notice this?

EDIT: Guy must of been smokin' corner candy. I didn't see this.

It's enough alright with the paintings. :) Seriously; it played an important part in Season I, what with the possible explosion of New York, and all. But with the anti climactic, different ending, the painting stuff really should have ended along with it. Besides, I''m still in the process of deciding whether or not I can get past the fact that Peter exploded in the high skies, and now is alive and kicking again. His brother seems to have survived the blast, too. ...HUH...

Nathan could have let him free fall and flown away.

Well, like psychic, reaver-killin' River, it is all hard to believe if you apply it to the real world. Super heroes, for their own longevity, are USUALLY impervious to their own powers. Maya doesn't kill herself, human torch doesn't burn himself, etc., etc.

That being said, in the latest online comic for heroes, Peter says "ow", when a spark of lightning comes out of his finger. …which in turn prolly healed.

Hmmm… wonder if the Haitian can wipe his own memory?
