I really had no intention of watching the new show LIFE. I'm a huge Peter Krause fan and had planned to watch the Dirty Sexy Money premiere.
But, by dumb luck, I ended up tuned in to LIFE instead. Watched the whole pilot episode and found it delightfully quirky -- a lot different than I expected.
Then, in episode 2, Christina Hendricks shows up at the door. Bonus! Big Damn Heroes showing up unexpectedly is always a good sign.
And, even as a hetero female, I have to say -- That Chick is Smokin'!
She really only had 2 scenes but it was good to see her. And since her "plotline" was unresolved, I imagine she'll be back.
For anyone who hasn't seen it, I would recommend a viewing or two to try it out.

I'm willing to give LIFE a shot. It kind of reminded me of BOOMTOWN, which came out around the same time as FIREFLY and shook up the staid cop show genre the same way that FIREFLY shook up the sci-fi genre. So anything that reminds me of that vastly underrated series is AOK for me.

Plus, another really great, unexpected casting is the lieutenant or higher up played by the same woman that played Calamity Jane in DEADWOOD. She cleans up nice, is all I'm saying. Almost didn't recognize her.

I've seen both episodes also and I love it.

Saw Christina Hendricks too. And at the end it was revealed that she's going to marry Charlie's father, who he doesn't talk too. Don't know where they are going to take her or how long she'll be on but it could get interesting.

All I can say is don't marry YoSafBridge!

I had planned on watching other shows in this time slot, and I'm so glad I checked out 'Life' -
I was totally blown away!

Most convicts come out of prison finding Islam or being born again in Christ, but this joker finds Zen and now lives his life through a filter of non-attachment and non-violence.
I LOVE this stuff!
He has plenty of money but isn't materialist, and a violence job but wants to maintain his non-violence,
this show really has a different POV and I think it is very cool.

And of course Christina Hendricks as his potential Step-Mom is really a riot! I'm very excited to see how this plays out.

I'm loving this show.

I am a HUGE "Mad Men" fan (to be embarassingly honest, I didn't even recognise CH from Firefly!), so I'm grateful to see more of the cast show up so quickly in other shows. That being said, "Life" and other cop dramas aren't exactly my cup of tea, but I'm willing to give it a shot...
Anyone else amused how Charlie Crews flipped out about his dad robbing the cradle, then shows up with two coeds on his arm as he meets his "8-yo" future stepmom?

Yep, I saw good ole "mrs reynolds". What an unexpected surprise!

I am watching life because I'm a huge fan of Damian Lewis who was excellent in Band of Brothers. So far its a good show.

HEH, "Band of Mudders"

The show's quite good so far, best new series I've seen since "Burn Notice".

"Pushing Daisies" looks like it will be a quirky hit as well.

Christina looked amazing as always. Man did she hit the DNA lotto.

Saw a "Hottest Redheads in Hollywood" list a couple weeks back somewhere, and she wasn't on it. They had actresses with freaking DYED RED HAIR, but no Christina. Idiots.

I noticed that too. I loved that running gag in the pilot where he keeps saying "I am not attached to this car." even though you can see that he's kind of digging it. And then the car gets run over by a tractor, and he has that look of "While I actually liked the car, I really don't need it."

Ditto as a Damian Lewis fan. I'm not into war movies, but saw him in the Forsyte Saga on PBS. I think he's largely what caught my attention and suckered me into that miniseries.

He's awesome on Life. He does for the cop drama what Hugh Laurie does for the medical drama... except he's not mean.

And I definitely recognized "Mrs. Reynolds"!

OK, either the casting director is a big fan of DEADWOOD, or one of the producers worked on DEADWOOD. First Calamity Jane, and now tonight William Sanderson aka. E.B. Farnum from the show is also on LIFE as this homeless guy that witnesses a murder. I thought the voice he used on that show was a made-up voice. I didn't realize he spoke like that in real life.
