STOWEAWAY

I didn't see this posted here.
This info came straight from the Equality Now website.
And we all know how much Joss would love for us to support Equality Now.

See TRADE September 28-October 5 and help support Equality Now's anti-trafficking work!

As part of the September 28, 2007 nationwide release of the sex-trafficking drama TRADE, Equality Now and three other organizations will be receiving 5% of the opening week box-office gross from Roadside Attractions, the film's distributor. TRADE, which stars Kevin Kline, follows the story of a 13-year-old Mexican girl and a young Polish woman as they are kidnapped by sex traffickers in Mexico and transported for sale in the United States. It is a powerful film with the sobering message that the global sex trafficking industry operates in our towns and cities, too, and we need to stand against those who enslave women and children as commodities in the sex trade.

Check out the film's trailer at www.tradethemovie.com and if you are close to one of the cities listed below, please go see TRADE during the opening week and know that you will be helping Equality Now in its efforts to stop this and other human rights violations against women and girls around the world. Bring some friends with you!

Opening cities for TRADE:

Albuquerque, NM
Atlanta, GA
Austin, TX
Boston, MA
Chicago, IL
Dallas, TX
Denver, CO
Detroit, MI
Fort Lauderdale, FL
Houston, TX
Los Angeles, CA
Madison, WI
Miami, FL
Milwaukee, WI
Minneapolis, MN
New York, NY
Orange County, CA
Philadelphia, PA
Phoenix, AZ
Portland, OR
Sacramento, CA
San Antonio, TX
San Diego, CA
San Francisco, CA
San Jose, CA
Santa Fe, NM
Seattle, WA
St Louis, MO
Washington, DC

I haven't checked out the trailer yet but I've heard it's pretty intense. Fandango has it listed as rated R for disturbing sexual material involving minors, violence including a rape, language, some drug content. Yikes!
It's probably a very frank and realistic look at something that goes on around the world that nobody likes to think about.

BROWNCOAT2007

I'm guessin' this is gunna be a bit like "Fast Food Nation," what with the whole story being about illega immagrant workers and all the weird/nasty stuff that ends up in the common McDonalds/Wendys/Burger King burger... Except on a MUCH more important topic, which is what, frankly and sadly, many Americans need to be able to act on something... a Documentary letting the folks know what in the hell is going on in the world... stupid Americans *sighs* unfortunately, I'm one of 'em... but then again, I'd rather be here than anywere ells... except mabey England
