I thought it was cute, but not sure it's a keeper for me.

The postives:
Chuck and the guy who plays him;
Adam Baldwin, obviously, and the best thing I've seen him in on tv since Angel

The negatives:
The female lead (forget her name) is NO!!!! Sydney Bristow or Jennifer Garner...just doesn't work for me
Also, the show was cute, but not nearly as funny or entertaining as I hoped. Maybe it'll grow on me more with further eps. (assuming they'll air)

"They talk about me in the chatty rooms?"--Angel

"I'm 1120 years old. Just give me a frigging beer!"--Anya

"All I had to do is want it bad enough...and guess what I want to do now, you prissy son of a bitch?"--Spike

For Joss!

I liked this show. I thought it was interesting and pretty funny! I hope it continues that way!

I had seen it previously, via the free Amazon download, and I felt the same way. It was good enough that I'll watch again. Can't say the same for Bionic Woman. I like Captain Awesome.

However, it was nowhere near as amazing as the futon critic makes it out to be. And I think the premise is highly suspect, but that's ok.

Select to view spoiler:

The climax is completely ludicrous; why is a laptop that's controlling a bomb connected to the internet anyway?

It's on my Tivo. I'll watch it tonight. I did watch Journeyman though. Pretty good. It's not on F*X, so it might actually stand a chance.

Maybe it has a wireless internet card. And they are in a hotel/conference center so there is a network present.

And come on how funny is it that a terrorist plot was stopped with porn.

I think that in order to enjoy this show, you're gonna have to "suspend disbelief" and just roll with it.
It had plenty of action, physical comedy, witty dialogue. On the whole I found it very entertaining.
Morgan is the perfect irritating and slightly creepy sidekick. He reminds me of Oswald & Lewis from The Drew Carey Show.
It was good enough that I'll give it a shot. Makes a nice, light-hearted lead-in to Heroes.

The chemistry between (whatever her name is) and Chuck seems quite good. Although, when she mentioned her ex, I was expecting him to be Adam's character instead of the dead guy.
Also, I hope Chuck makes sure that he isn't held responsible for the damage to the company car.

I could stand to hear a little more.

Fun show, as long you don't ever take it seriously. The show's greatest strength is its stupidity, 'cause that's where the funny is.

Am I the only one who got the Zork reference?

Chuck's computer getting "destroyed".

Oh yes....it was great seeing the Jayne attitude pop up from time to time. Two thumbs up to Adam's job of being the mean and scary NSA agent.
I enjoyed the show alot and it should be a great lead in to Heroes. As one person put it on another thread, Chuck is "fun" to watch.
As far as being realistic; if i want realism I'll watch the weather channel. Nothing on TV is realistic and I prefer my entertainment that way. Even the news channels are great at creating fiction.
On the other hand, editors of these shows definitely have to be on their toes to make everything line up just right.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I watched and it was fairly good. Not great, but entertaining.

I'm going to give it a few more episodes to see how it goes.

Does C4 explode if you puke on it? Now that would be funny!

No argument there. However, the card would still have to be turned on, plus the timing was all off. Anyway, as someone else said if you suspend belief it's a fun show. It's just that Joss has a way of making the most far-fetched ideas seem plausible.

No argument there from me either. Plus, it reminds me more of Alias anyway.

Alias was EXTREMELY far-fetched, even for the die-hard fans. One of it's most annoying "quirks" was someone faking their death every other week. So many times a season and it stopped being compelling (I kept watching mainly because I genuinely enjoyed the characters and the "dysfunctional family" themes)...then it happened again in the final season and it tore me up.

My point being, even the most ridiculous things can sometimes turn out to unexpectedly resonate (right word?).

Don't know if Chuck will be that way, it's a wait-and-see kind of thing for me too.

MISSTRESSAHARA

Well I mentioned on both the Hero threads how much I enjoyed it and look forward to having it be a lead in to Heroes. Yes it was silly and stupid and a lot of things seemed far fetched (mainly to me the way the NSA and CIA agents fought each other so brutally. Same side remember) but it was a great show and I found myself laughing (silly nerdy sidekick is so silly) and enjoying myself. Even though I HATED Adam's hair. What was he thinking? too-much-hair..........

And there was a brief moment that felt Joss-like in the beggining of the show when Bryce the rogue agent nearly get's away and suddenly he's shot, then you hear Adam say in a calm voice "Don't move." Most say that BEFORE shooting someone, he did it after. Had a Mal quality to it. And some of the dialogue I found quite witty. I'm looking forward to Mondays now. I just have to find the episodes of Eureka S2 to cath up and I'll be set.
