Yeppers, it's very fast and has no problems with anything I throw at it (apart from still being on dial-up). The true test of it won't be for a while yet. Once I obtain/install STALKER, Bioshock, The Orange Box and the like, then we'll see just how capable it is. For now, I rest secure in the knowledge that it makes my old one seem like a zimmer frame.

*huggles everyone, especially Rose*

I'm glad you like the kitties...

Um *fidgets* it's a big, expensive ocean to span, so I guess the rate is, uh, whatever can be spared. I feel bad asking for too much.

Right now I have... 10.5% of what I'll likely need.

aussie land right? about 3 grand. plus you need expenses. another 500, may be there a bit.
"why are we talking about what has already been decided".
so stop *fidgetin* post the paypal thing again please, never used it. or an address to mail it. don't know what to much is so i will send you a ben monday.
"This is true love - you think this happens every day?"
if i can spend a 100 or more on firefly dvds and serenity dvds to give out to people, i can help a browncoat...who likes cats.

needs to be done. no thanks, or whatever needed.
people can throw 10, 20 on it. that is a night drinkin. so skip a night or two and help a browncoat out. if that don't do, help a couple of kids that need to hook up.
35 at 100
70 at 50
175 at 20
350 at 10
i would think we have a 175 people that could spare 20 bucks.
why not, the storys and pics of an aussie trip will be worth it.

Good morning people. I'm not enjoying the monday morning. All the students come back this year. Yuck! I've decided college is nicer without students! Plus, wonderful as it was to have my friend over to stay, I didn't exactly get a lot of sleep over the weekend!

So, who is actually feeling happy and bright and cheery today?!

Morning Emma,

I'm pretty chipper, toe is a little sore but off to Bristol for work on Thursday and staying at a mate of mine's house that night and I haven't seen him in a couple of months and his wife in about 2-3 years so it's going to be great to see them. Only bummer is, he is djing for freshers that night and it's a 2am finish and I have to be over in Wrexham on Friday morning so that could be a little interesting!

I should be ok to meet up at the weekend, I'm just going to have a big sleep Fiday night, the only proviso is if anything happens this weekend due to me being technically a year older on Wednesday and family plans etc...

Hi all...popping on for a moment mainly to welcome Emma back to the school year.

Welcome back to the teaching fray Emma *orders a round for Emma to recover the first day with* If it'll make you feel better, at least you have an idea of what you're teaching...this year I found out my school a week before the year started, and what I'm teaching the day after school started for teachers....which means I had "officially" two days to prep for a subject I've never taught before. (Our next workday was a waiver day with no kids but a lot of meetings, and I finally got the textbooks mid- to end of the quarter.)(1)

I vote the Pavlovian method...bite-sized bits of individually wrapped chocolate as a random "good job" reward. (The $10 bag from the nearest warehouse shop with a variety of chocolates...) I've literally had kids yell at each other "Cut it out! She's taking out the bag!" and sit up straighter this year.

Then if that doesn't work, the cattle prod is always a good back up. (Carrot first, stick after)

Oh, yick. I had that (day long dizzy spell) once. I couldn't walk, I could barely crawl that day. I hope it gets better MisterG.

's been an interesting day today. I came to find my classroom already open (builders were installing a new door), and later this afternoon there was a possible fire (kids noticed that there was a smell of smoke, and looking out there was a lot of smoke coming down)...had to yell at the kids to get them back into class for that...just what a teacher needs, a whole group of kids hanging out of the door and possibly causing a stampede if there was a fire evac. (Irony is we had the fire drill and the lockdown drill last week.) *shrug* Oh well, they're a good bunch...playful, young...but a really good bunch.

(1) Yes, this is a crazy set up, but compared to last year, this is just annoying -- most folks would be at the "Tear-the-hair-out" stage. Guess it's telling 'bout last school year, how things have changed for me, and the lessons I've learned, in some ways.

*orders an ice cream sandwich-red bull-Dew combo for the ninjakitty, a coke for the penguin, a round of whatever else everyone is having, and a plantation iced tea to go*

Thanks so much for your words of comfort! I shall stop getting stressed about my lack of prep time, it could be worse!

Your PM was also much appreciated. I'm going to go check out that website now.

Fly - glad the parcel arrived! I had some clotted cream I was going to send but wasn't sure if the Foot & Mouth epedemic here might make that dodgy so I sent you homemade jam instead! Hope you like. The kendal mint cake was the closest I could come to an addictive sweet! What else was there? Oh yes, biscuits to put the jam on. There was a book in there that was kinda fun (but I'm not a huge Starwars fan so thought I'd pass it on). The painting was not my best work! Just a 5 minute rush job I'm afraid. One of these days I'll take the time to really indulge my creative impulses!

EVERYTHING was much appreciated! But I do have to say that the jam/biscuits combination was absolutely mouthwatering! And your "rush job" artwork is sitting adjacent to my tube of Serenity blueprints.

Yeah, the cream might be something that would bother customs officials.

The package to you should be there soon... It must have had "slow" stamped on it or something. I hope that you enjoy the chocolates and the teaching advice book.

You know what the first rule of flyin' is? Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. And love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down… tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keels… makes her a home.
