Welcome back MSG. Seems the weekend went fast on the part of the Con. Saw some pics posted by Tristan over at Myspace. Fricken' awesome. I laughed a bit at one pic. Seems the 501st may be a little intimidated by the 76th.

Be back to y'all in a bit.

Welcome home MsG! I was browsing through the Dragon*Con photos on Flickr yesterday, and I recognized Jimi, Magda, and Tristan in the parade. Pretty cool to randomly recognize people like that. (Then I got distracted by the Spartans, gah!) Judging by the general 'Con pics on Flickr, I bet you guys had a blast. Can't wait to see your pictures!

Well everyone who did or didn't go to D*C has to come the the browncoat ball if Austin wins as the location.

I've started paying more attention to the local browncoat group and they are trying really hard to get austin to be the location of something called the browncoat ball. Somehow I'm actually excited to see if we win this thing.

Yes the 76th truly outclassed the 501st and then some. ( I'm not biased or anything they were genuinely better) Plus they're better looking:)

There is really nothing anyone can do. All has caved in and it is a matter of everything being ironed out. I'm all about lists so here is the list for the hell hole of a life that has to get better in a big F-ing hurry:

1. Wells Fargo still hasn't done shit with my fraud claim. Over a grand wrapped up in that one right now.

2. Without money I can't re-register my truck and get the appropriate amount of insurance. But it is linked to...

3. I wanted to stop driving my truck. Seems there are just too many memories of ...

4. The crazy female who called crying Saturday night. She actually apologized yesterday. Out of nowhere. When I mentioned the stale mate we have and how it is unhealthy for us to go on like this she pulls the losing too many friends card, disappointment, not giving everything enough time to work out, giving up only after a few weeks...

5. And having left her behind once left a huge gap before, I have no clue what it would do now. Filled with much fear. And really, I ain't one to fear except in terms of the heart. Fear should not be a feeling associated with love. There is already so much doubt I have reverted back to. I can see it. How can I possibly keep someone around who re-established its hold on me after such a short time? If there were a way we could be together without her trying to sign me up for having an instnat hold on her family than it might be possible. But she can't so why the F should I try.

Pretty F-ed up that I should fret so much. Things have been tougher with less chance of resolution. But still I stayed the course and achieved some sort of understanding for the answer I got. The answer is in my head and heart but it is not what I want to hear. Nothing can change the truth of the matter. She has to be let go and I have to do it because no one can do it for me.

On one front I have dtermined a possible avenue to persue:

Regardless of how I conduct myself there will always be some subconcious draw toward women in need. So to avoid too much involvement I will avoid offering help, have no intention of helping, and do what makes me happy. Helping made me happy 'til stuff got figured out. That is a sickness suffered by both parties.

GAH!!! Just tired of feeling all this crap. Just want stability. But things were good for a long time before her. I don't want to fear being alone but I don't need to fear being with someone either. Done whining about it. I'm ready to kick my own ass.

Huh. That might be the order of business for lunch. Kick my own ass.

*Hugs* to both ya. Sorry things have been so shitty for you, NVG. My brother is going through a "break" with his girlfriend (a girl I still hope he'll marry), and both of you have gone from being on cloud 9 to being bummed out. It sucks! *Hugs* Though, as far as being drawn to needy people, my personal experience was that once I got away from people like that (and made an effort to stay away) and got into a healthy relationship, the draw of the needy really seemed to wear off. Now I just wish I could go back in time and tell myself to move on sooner. So you may find one day that it simply doesn't appeal to you anymore.

I'm doing a bit better, MsG. The long weekend helped I think. It's looking a bit like I had a flare within a flare -- one started in June after I went out of town for a wedding, and the second started when I pushed myself too hard the first week of August. I feel like I'm recovering to the July standard, which isn't great but is better, out of the sub-flare but still in the main flare. I'm still not really going out by myself, and the one time I did last week driving was still massively painful, but I seem to have a lot more energy now. Hence more posting. (Also, the rest of my co-workers are at a conference I'm not well enough to attend, so I've been left to my own devices work-wise, hehe.)

And in other good news, I used this ridiculously cute video:

to convince hubby that pomeranians are the cutest dogs ever. He's been holding out for a corgi, but I've wanted a pom for a long time, and I think I've won him over. Now we just have to get a house without stairs, or get me well enough to be able to take a puppy out multiple times a day, hehe. And in a random, slightly horrifying World of Warcraft joke, if/when we get a pom we might just name him Pyro (mage talent spec in WoW, Presence of Mind [or PoM] plus Pyroblast, commonly referred to as PoM Pyro, lol).

Ok, now I have to watch that video again, lol.

Yeah, hubby had a Cardigan corgi (the type with tails) years ago, and they're probably his favorite dogs (or were until I started showing him pom videos, muwhahahaha). I've seen lots of Pembroke corgis (the type without tails) irl (have you been to Dragon's Lair in Austin, Zeek? they've had a couple of Pembrokes running around there for a few years now) but only one Cardigan irl. I hadn't really ever seen a pomeranian irl until we moved out here (small dogs are very popular here, heh), but they've quickly become my favorite. Both breeds are unbelievably cute as puppies, but when they reach adulthood I prefer the look of poms. I love their little tiny fox faces!

Game and comic shop, along with other geeky things. Frequent destination when I lived in Austin, and I hit it up at least once while visiting for Christmas. My parents often use a promise of a trip there to motivate my youngest siblings to finish their homework or clean their rooms, lol. But then, we're a really really geeky family -- I've painted miniatures for each of my family members as Christmas stocking stuffers, for use during the annual family D&D session, and I've yet to find a place out here that beats Dragon's Lair selection of miniatures.

Continuing with this theme..."miniatures"?

I'm not that geeky btw. I've only ever been in a comic book store once for the Serenity comics. Even after that experience I ditched that place and just ordered them online for the rest of them.

Then again I'm not really a store person. If I go to a store it's never with the intention of browsing. I want something specific and I want it as quickly as possible. Usually if a store employee talks to me they get a dirty look and a "leave me alone" (but nicer) reply.

So, I doubt I'd have much use for the Dragon's Lair.

Rofl, I'm such a geek: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miniature_figure_%28gaming%29

We don't use them seriously in our D&D campaigns, mostly just for the fun of it. (Though the time my youngest sister rolled a critical miss and managed to shoot my mom was pretty hilarious to set up with the miniatures). Mostly I just like looking through the wall of them they have at Dragon's Lair and finding ones with cool armor or whatever and imagining how I could paint it. And I like picking out one that matches a family member's personality and painting it just for them. The painting fits with my crafty side and the finished product fits with my geeky side, so it's a natural match for me.

Lol, something like that.

So, I took a couple of quick pictures of ones I had on hand. I had to shrink them down so they wouldn't lag out the thread, but I think you'll get the idea. They're each only about an inch tall from base to top of their head.

This is one that I started a few years ago. Looking at the hi-rez image, I can see all kinds of spots I would need to fix, hehe. This one might end up being for my sister-in-law, depending on what tips I get from my brother.

This is one I'll probably end up using for myself. I bought it because I thought her pigtails and little flute were way cute:

And this one I bought because she reminded me of Zoe :

I've painted ninjas, dwarven paladins, and hunters complete with pet wolf. I painted a mage for my mom that could also be a choir leader (is that a spell book or song book? hehe). Then I wrap them up in little bits of velvet or whatever and put them in their stockings for Christmas.

A half hearted Woo Hoo for the lunchtime hustle. Looks like I may have the fundage to run to Carson then Reno tomorrow in the chance I can renew the inurance, ge a smog chec, renew the registration, and hope with every available body part crossed that the truck decides not to over heat or take a dump in any way. Making a day outta it. Might even go as far as to shopping for music at Recycled Records and eating somewhere I've never been before. Seems the month requires some sort of adventure and that sounds tame and less than dramatic. Just what I am looking for.

As for shopping: I get the non-shopper view. But seeing as our local fetish shop caters to RPG'ers, anime fans, a large comic demographic, toy collectors, card freaks, air soft users, online gamers via LAN partys all the time, and the unfortunate Paint Ball junkies like myself, there always seems to be time to stand around and listen to conversations involving the strange language of folks involved in so many things.

Mostly I go there because of the air conditioning. Having the ability to look for parts, watch whatever interesting show is on TV, and loiter without getting a sideways look is always a good thing here especially if good A/C is involved.

ZEEK

It takes me a good long while to get comfy with people.

Still no word on the 2008 browncoat ball though. So, I may be safe.

Howdy ponderers!

It took all day to get back to y'all. I got a bunch of stuff sorted out and I still have a truck.

But here is a source of a slight bit of stress: the Battle For Serenity Valley scenario is next Friday. I have done nothing to prep in the last few months due to "other" distractions. It not only crept up on me but it seems to be nibbling at my behind right now.

Not really sure what to do at this point. I just want a gorram vacation!

Short list: Clean and test marker, clean and test vest/load bearing gear, decide what I can use to represnt the 76th, decide if a week can support time to come up with a costume for the Friday night costume contest, see who I am actually going to attend the scenario with, decide which nights I'm roughin' it and what night(s) I wanna stay in a hotel. Seems I have found the money to do all of this in a short time. There are some parts I have to find for the backup gun aptly named Jerry Lee.

Of course everyone knows Jerry Lee Lewis was known as "the Killer" back in the day. Seems the backup has more than proved itself of the name.

Mostly I see this as the chance at a short vacation before having to buckle down before the end of the year. It is always hectic and busy so this seems like a good way to cap the summer.
