Hey all, here´s a link to Universal so we can write them and let them know how much we want this movie. (Hope this works, I´ve never posted a link before).

I just miss this show so terribly much! I have never loved a tv-show as much as I love Firefly. I mean, I adored Buffy and was sad when it ended, but it still had seven seasons of goodness. When I think of all the untold stories of Firefly, the journeys they were gonna take, the choices they would have had to make, the laughter, the tears and the sheer joy that future episodes would have brought us, I just want to scream at the unjustice. So, all my hope is pinned to the movie, because I just can not believe that we´ve seen the last of our beloved crew aboard Serenity.

Anyway, I wrote Universal a long e-mail explaining why I want this movie made, I hope you do the same. Spread the word.

Well, I wrote in.

Honestly, I would rather see FIREFLY return in a mini-series which could then be spun off into more mini-series' or another television series. While a movie might be cool, we would get much more FIREFLY through the TV route.

Just sent my message (quoted below for any who would care to mine it for any portion of their own!). I had been looking for such a link, and would still be interested in any targets for brief, tastefully understated encouraging words in a print format (we have to be careful of this, though, since a flood of gushing, hyperbolic post-cards might actually be counterproductive at this stage, yes?).

Anyway, thanks for the link! Here's my note:

Quote:

To Whom It May Concern;

I am writing to thank you at Universal Studios for the interest and consideration shown to Joss Whedon in his endeavor to bring "Firefly" to the big screen.

"Firefly" is a program which very rapidly developed an exceedingly devoted and well-organized fan base, encompassing a startlingly broad swath of demographics. This happened despite the series' very brief run (with multiple pre-emptions), woeful under-promotion, and toxic time slot (Fridays at 8:00 PM!).

The show really is that good! It is intelligent, soulful, funny, well thought-out, and yet action-packed. The characters and context leapt forth, fully-formed, from the very first episode (and, as a practicing Clinical Psychologist, I do pay very close attention to the quality of characterization!), promising all manner of marvelous stories to tell. Alas, it never got the chance.

"Firefly" lends itself exceptionally well to a theatrical format, due to the breadth and depth of the universe it depicts. Each and every character embodies the possibilities of story arcs which would more than suffice for a feature film, and there is not an actor in the cast who is not amply qualified to involve audiences in the kind of gripping yarn which only Joss Whedon can spin.

I urge and implore you to make those in a decision-making position aware of this letter, and those of others who have come to love this story as much as I. An investment in a "Firefly" movie would be money well-spent, and would doubtless result in a feature which will add to the enormous list of high-quality films for which Universal Studios has been responsible.

I thank you for your time and consideration!

Sincerely;

[MEEEEE!!]

Keep Flyin'!!

Here's what I sent.

Quote:

I would like to see a movie of the television series Firefly as it was a very well thought out series that I don't believe was given a fair chance. It has a huge fan base and there are hundreds of people or more who would like to see the phenomenon of Firefly continue.
