This is for all the shiny new people we met in the last thread: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=30030#528103

I figured I'd start a new one now, since I won't be around much today. It's my cousin's birthday.

Don't do anything I wouldn't do!!

Hello SuzfromOz!!

I am heading back to work to do some clerical work for my boss - I need the extra money!!

I think they are all asleep (yesterday) in the US and perhaps they are still at work (today) in the UK... us Aussies have the jump on them all!

We will have to catch up for real some time - are you on Serenity Oz? I recently joined and they are a lovely bunch - well they are browncoats so of course!!

See you soon - Magda x x

EDIT: Suz - I just looked at your web page - I make my own jewellery - but nothing as lovely as yours, and a friend of mine just got started on lampwork beads - she is making some beautiful things!! I have passed on your site to her and I would love to spend more time looking through your site and your husband makes armour too!! Wow - what a talented bunch of folk!! I am definitely going to be visiting your site more often!!

Take a look everyone!!

And Suz's drinks are on me!!

Morning all,

snuck into work early to try and finish off something on a laptop I am working on for one of the sales people and they had the cleaner open the office and grabbed it back argh!

Currently drinking EsspressoChoc to get the brain moving and will attack my day. If I get really lucky might sneak off early having snuck in.

Must get the bar's resident ninja to teach me some tricks, now if I could just find her... oooh look, an ehug!

Anyway, off to work but UK day shift is now officially on, any OZ shift still about? We can make fun of the yanks whilst they're sleeping

Yep, likely to be the case for me today. Not sure I should complain though as I'll miss the boredom when the students come back!

Looks like you and me have VERY similar tastes in men! This is a good thing in an e-friend, less so in a drinking buddy (if ever we get to attend a similar event - we'd have to draw straws! What?! It could happen! I'm planning on saving up to visit distant Broancoat events all over the world next year!)

Thanks Magda!

Where in Melbourne are you? - I'm outer eastern suburbs. I know a lot of the melbourne lampworkers through aussie forum, and classes and such - who is your friend?

I do have a membership (I think) to the aussie forum, but I dont hang out there. I just used it to find out about the screening last year, which I dragged 8 or 9 people along to.

I spend a lot of time on forums for glass artists...so I dont want to get hooked on another one. I'm dangerously close to spending too much time online as it is. :) I started coming here to read the fanfic actually. Its generally of a much better standard than that on fanfic.net.

Thanks for the comments on my work. I'm going to try and have some new stuff up soon. My blog can be accessed from my website - if you scroll back through it I have pics of more recent work.

Yep, looks like it's just us and them for a while. Could be fun, we could run about saying Lietenant with an F or lift and boot etc. I think that would get dull quite quickly though!

How's your toe today? Any better?
Just remembered your sad post about being banned from book buying. I'm racing my way through the Dresden Files series and would be happy to post them to you to read if you would be interested. A lot cheaper than the usual flying library!

Good to see that HK made it over here, unless someone else has gotten sneaky and started stealing the snacks left out for her.

Of course, Jimi, for you are a gentleman and innocent of any improper thoughts.

Sigh! I'm so not in the mood for work today. The phone keeps ringing from students who didn't get into Uni and and so are now turning to us. Some want to do Animal Care because they have a friend who used to own a hamster and it looked sort of cute!
There's been someone on the phone yesterday about doing a Masters course who doesn't want to see any animal that might be suffering so refuses to visit the vets, the farm or the animal unit. It was explained to her that this might make passing her course a bit tricky.

It is important to note that glomping is, in most cases, a consensual activity, and is enjoyed by people of either gender. Glomping is said to be more fun with a running start, sometimes called a tackle cuddle or, more concisely, simply a pounce. Glomping may also mow a recipient down at times, as the recipient may have given permission, but may be unprepared for the glomp's intensity.

Yay new thread. Tell ur cousin happy birthday even though technically it was yesterday *US, was late here when I posted last night*

dear lord, glomping. My friend went to a convention in Toronto and has like seven or so videos of a friend of hers glomping all of the stars of her favorite show. Every single one began with a running start off camera, because by the time the girl got on screen, she had enough momentum that the star she glomped usually ended up doing a faceplant. Funny vids, wish I could've gone :\. XD

Um... *dips head in shame* Life?

We've pretty much know for a while now but were hoping that we could some how pull off the impossible. Not gonna happen though.

At least Mags is still gonna be there, and RIMG, and HK (I think), and Vex, and ... well there will be lots of others! It will still be a blast!

On a brighter note it looks like I will have to go out to Denver in the spring to be in my friend's wedding so maybe we could hook up while I am there.

I sent Mags a message this morning to let her know. Am hoping that she is not too busy with all of her visits and can pop up here for a couple of days or something.

RIMG - No prob on the shipping expense just drop me a line with the damage. Oh and Laurelin was hoping that you were in the process of making some of the first batch again (the breakfast beer I think) cuz she would like some.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

lol Duly noted. But since Engie is counting on me to be her roomie and this way I'll get to meet Magda before just jetting off to a foreign country, I guess I'll go ahead with that. No mistake, though! I'll be saving all I can to get Down Under.
Unless I win the trip tomorrow. That would be awesome.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

*Crosses fingers.*

You know what the first rule of flyin' is? Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. And love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down… tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keels… makes her a home.
