HUGS NV - sorry about the upheaval:)

Flyvote...really do tell:)

OK freakin tile people from hell...so my school's hallways were to be re-tiled. The people who did the tear out completed their portion on June 5th...fast forward to July 25th and the tile installers just barely started..then stopped 'cause they screwed up and ordered the wrong tile, then stopped again 'cause they screwed up and couldn't get the promised tile...it is now Monday and they are still laying tile..we have back to school night on Wed. night and the teachers are supposed to have their rooms ready. We have 1/2 day tomorrow and all day Wed. to prep the rooms. 1/3 of the teachers (including me) will be unable to access their rooms ALL DAY Tuesday and 1/2 a day Wednesday and that's if the tile people hurry ( a skill they have not demonstrated yet) So I just spent 2 hours frantically carrying all the stuff from my old room to my new one ( next door...it's a long story) and it's in heaps all over the floor. I now have to go in tomorrow at 6 am to spend 3 hours sorting and preping my room before they seal the floors and I can't get in until Wed. night...this BITES!!!@!!!!!@!#$%^&*()

Maybe one of them will seal himself to the floor, and you can actually get a laugh out of it (if that happens, please take a picture of it for us).

Definately get pictures.

I got to boxing up some AR mounts for a fella at the H23 site and remembered
I FORGOT TO SEND Y'ALL THE CARE PACKAGE!!!

There will be a little extra monies in my pocket tomorrow so I'll be boxing up some bottles marked FRAGILE' as large as possible.

Been posting poetry at other sites and I think that might be my contributions to the Blue Sun Room. I had messages to Mindy a few weeks ago that my poetic longing had been quelled with her presence. It might have actually been killed for the time I was around her. Didn't recognize it 'til now. But don't the greatest human expressions come from either personal sorrow or extremem jubilation? I just want to create without having to find such extremes.

Is that possible with the way the human heart works?

mornin' Imponderables.

Yay for Weeds, and also, I saw last night that

DEXTER IS COMING BACK FOR SEASON 2 STARTING SEPTEMBER 30TH !!!!!

I am so stoked.

NVG, you really don't have to send that package, but if you insist, I assure you that it will be put to good use, whatever it might be. We'll definitely have to lift a few in your name, as it is tragic that you, as well as several others (JQ, Nico, Roxy, LA29, GorramnDoll, and more) won't be able to make it.

Also, I do think that it takes the extreme emotions to create extreme expressions, there's no getting around that.

MsG - *hugs* and good luck with the classroom changing today.

Amazon has been sayin' mine has had notification for pick up by shipper for days now. I'm gonna go ahead and drive to Reno this evening. Best buy is giving away a free comic with their copies. Woo hoo!

Expression. I always have it in me. Bit not everyone wants to hear it. Either it is a shock for me to express myself or the sight of me waxing poetical is a strange sight. Not sure how to take that. But that is jus the way things are.

Double up on the luck for the classroom MSG. Hopefully something good will come out of it.

And as a part of Those Who Aren't Golng I would like to thank those who are capable in advance. Seems the recognition of we Browncoats has been put upon a great group of individuals who will not only do a great job representing us, but will also create unity for a faction not particularly accepted in the genre. Not that Browncoats aren't welcome. But it sure feels like there are plenty of sideways looks and scoffing from time to time. But that's okay. We carry the mighty heart that could take down Stormtroopers 100 to one and make hardcore Trekkies weep openly and leave yellow puddles where they stood.

Sorry. A little aggressive this morning. Caught a small cold and I really want to work out. Might be able to shoot again this weekend so there is something to look forward to.

Yeah I'm thinking of getting a second copy from them for that very reason. I'm seeing if there's any interest in a Serenity celebration this weekend. Then I could have a copy and a comic book as prizes for the standard trivia contest at the end. :-)

That is awesome Zeek. I (hopefully) got Steve who runs the other Paintball shop in town to watch Firefly. If he didn't get the chance to rent freom BB then I told him I'd hand him a set to watch. He'll be at the big scenario game in September so I wanted to recruit a few hard shooters for a team. Luckily he has a team and was trying to recruit me. Seems we might need to arrange a similar series of get togethers for immersion in the game.

No D*C here, but I got the luck that put a 26 hour Battle of Serenity Valley scenario paintball game thirty five miles from home.

Well it ain't the shiny tourney crap they show on ESPN 2. It is woods and hobby ballers who get in the thick of stuff on fields that are ever changing and dynamic. No pro's. Some use the ultra light markers you see the tourney pro's use, many use the less spiffy but still effective hobby equivilent, and a few like me use mil-sim markers with comperable weight and look to actual firearms. One marker has a psuedo modular AR look (my primary Diana) and the older marker has a G36C style shroud similar to those the 76th has chosen as their official weapon (Sara Jane, named for one of my favorite Browncoats) which will eventually become a long barreled, squad automatic weapon (static) complete with 20 pound tank and cases of paint. Mostly we want a machinegun for a nest or pillbox in small scenario's every few months.
I like being a heavy gunner. But I occasionally use one of the smaller loaners, don the camo netting and sneaky shoes, and get low and slow. Either way I get to scarin' folks with the big gun or poppin' them two at a time, sometimes tagging a few out at point blank range.
Not that I'm good or anything. I just really love to play, regardless of the losses.

And I borrowed from a non-interest collecting source. Soon I'll be driving one of my Ranchero's as the truck is developing problems. I haven't chucked an engine in a daily driver yet and I will not be happy if'n it happens with my very favorite truck.

Reminded me of a story that I actually typed below but deleted because it was just another reflection of what is wrong between us. I won't ruin another truck (symbol of friendship and safety) on her account. My morning was spent reflecting and nothing was resolved or discovered other than the fact that I am poisioned and need to purge it all in order to live the life I was already looking forward to.

So I won't be driving the Hot Rod I wanted the car to be. But I'll have my truck with a fresh engine, ready for the winter. Looking for the long haul. That's the way I see it.

I went and got one from Best Buy after work yesterday. The comic is included in the packaging and it's like a smaller version of the first of the three serenity comics. My guess is they're hoping people like it so much they buy the other two and they'll end up making a profit. Pssh whatever it'll make a good prize for Serenity night.

The DVD itself hasn't impressed me too much yet. Right off the bat I was like "really it's still the same old menu?". Not that I have anything against the DVD menus, but I just expected them to put a shiny new coat of paint on the thing. I went straight to the bonus disc and if I'm not mistaken the only new stuff on there was the River Tam sessions. So, back to the main movie disc I went. There they had a few new features. Something about the lighting guys. Some extended scenes. I didn't spend all night watching the commentaries though. I'm really hoping that's where the value lies. Cause otherwise I'm not too impressed by the special features. It seems only slightly better than the original version. Well except for the packaging which I like.

Anybody else got there copy yet? Have you found anything amazing in it that I'm missing?

Good morning folks.

Is it that there is no AC MSG or perhaps it could be you heatin' up the place.

Richard Dawson: "Survey says..."

Be sure to stay cool. Nothing fatigues folks quicker than temperatures outside of their comfort range.

And shareage is good Jimi. Shareage is very good. Box is in the truck. It'll arrive in a Special Ops Paintball box as I had no other odd shaped boxes. Wish I had the fundage for a kickass airsoft weapon of the likes I had posted before to send y'all. But alas this whole thing over the last two months set me back into a strange hovering debt.

It's all good though. I got to shoot with a small group last night and had fun despite receiving a text message from the Mindy. Our own little goodbyes I guess. We're pretty much at the frayed ends of two different kinds of rope that can't be tied no more. Though I'm sad (and I can feel that she is too) there is no way we could ever connect to or trust eachother again. But now that this has happened I feel it important to really look around to see what the hell I've been missing. I actually noticed signs of attraction coming from a few ladies in town yesterday and was even flirted with by the checkout girl at Wally World. I didn't really reciprocate that flirting which probably made me look like a dick but I am leary of anyone I could possibly be attraced to. I just hink it funny to say I got checked out by the checkout girl. Huh. At the tire place too. But I'm so freakin' moody right now. WTF?

On a somber note, I'm sure the heart of Ginny is wearing thin. I have been afraid of blowing the engine and it seems that now more than ever I just don't want to be driving this truck. If anyone has heard the Montgomery Gentry song Speed then you'd know. Too many memories right now.

NV- hey getting 'checked out" is good:) HUGS and sorry for all this stress you're in

Jimi- is Ami feeling better? ( translated is she less angry and ready to kill?)

aw you're sweet..however it won't be remedied ever...there is no A/C in most Utah schools ( unless they are year round) it's not considered "cost effective" to put air conditioners in schools when we'd only be using them 4 months of the year( which is almost 1/2 the school year) I note that the legislature did think it was cost effective to put A?C in their own offices even though they only use those offices in the summer if a special session is called....so no A/C for me. Luckily it's only a month or so that it'll be more than 85 degrees in the classroom and then it'll cool down.

Sorry I've hardly been on. Between teacher meetings and being locked out of my room...I just can't get on all day. Also, I won't be on later as I tutor from 3:30-10:30 pm tonight.

So, box was sent. Despite the fact four hundred bucks are missing from my bank account. No big deal though. I'd rather have sent it than not. Sems I got to remincing while walking out of a loan place on why I ain't going in the first place.
Seems Mindy had a pretty big crisis at the beginning of the year and I naturally pushed to help out. After shifting everything around I figured on being able to make it to D*C. But after her next crisis in June I knew it was out of the question.
Down (counts fingers) about four grand in the last year. I actually figured five and she had previously figured three. Four is a happy medium. The insurance still hasn't paid her for the stuff earlier in the year and even then she'll need every bit of it since she's "on her own". Tax season is a considerable distance away. And I'm bitching for no reason 'cause I really don't care. Nerves are still a little shot from the passing texts yesterday evening. I know it is all over. But despite her being the more stubborn of the two of us I know she see's it too.

13 mentioned getting beaned and being walked. Seems that's two for the year. Baseball people: why do they purposefully walk hitters?

'NEKO!!! All the glompy goodness in the 'verse for ya woman. It is always best to fear the worst while hoping for the best. Makes the letdown easier and keeps a person working through the problem to the bitter end. Something insane and something great came out of it.

ME.

No, really. I've had Linda Ronstadts version of the Buddy Holly song It Doesn't Matter Anymore running through my head all morning. I mentioned it before because Mindy played it alot there for a time. Seems she was playing a song that she was always on the wrong end of. It keeps ringing. Even through the painfully loud Static X blaring out of the truck this morning. I have to stop driving this truck.

The great thing: I am still me. Though a bit off kilter (or moreso than before) It feels lighter, the world and such. That whole leaving behind guilt lingers a bit but hey, nothing get easy quickly. Just over this short amount of time I can feel the slipping away. That's good, right?

WTF? I'm sitting here talking about myself and this is my reply to y'all. How rude.

With the priority mailing I was told two or three days Jimi. Seems seven pounds mailed was a little spendy but hey, what was I to do. Take it there myself? Actually I would have but we won't go there.

MSG, I had set in some lengthy rambling about how being a nice guy sucks. But it seems I do that alot lately. Sorry. It was a dick move on my part. I have nothing to complain about. I can get pretty much anything I need and a few things I want and for the most part people pretty much leave me the hell alone.

I did spend the evening cleaning out my "other" Ranchero, doing comfort and safety checks, and... basically I f-ed around outside with the car so's I could drink some beers and keep my mind out of other things. Worked real well didn't it. Fricken waking with that song in my head and trying to function is a challenge in itself. I'm sure it has become cumbersome hearing of it constantly so I have to quit for a while.

In the mean time, what is everyone doing or planning to do for recreation this weekend?

No. I don't wear hoodys.

So I'm hoping to gather the fundage to go shoot this weekend. Problem is that I might be abusing myself by going so much. I actually loaned one of our guys my good stuff the last time I went with them and took the basic loaner loadout. I'm trying to hone my skills a bit, but I also think I'm trying to get shot. Aside from the multiple hits on my left side, three in the hands, and one hard graze on the inside of my right bicep, there is a very defined red/purple/black ring on my left buttock. First time I ever had one that bad in such a place. Just think it's wierd. I never get shot this much. But I am going back into hidey/shootey mode. Seems I've failed to meet my goal of a 200 percent average. Not happy with that and have to fix it.

I figured out that Queens of the Stone Age really scrubs songs stuck in your head out. Problem is I had to remember what was stuck and it's trying to grab ahold again.

I'm retarded.

So yeah, using the camo netting to my advantage this Sunday if I get to go. Seems I began to scare the opposition a bit last Sunday. This time its hidey time with the big gun that shoots fast and holds alot of paint. It's time to open the can and hand out the contents accordingly.

Man pizza, prizes and wii playing is so far not enough to convince people to watch even one episode of Firefly. How lame.

Oh well more pizza and wii for me I suppose.

But there's only so much law and order I can handle.

It's more like potluck and less like order...you put all the moves in a non-transparent bag and then draw one a week.

There there you've had a rough week huh? I meant the show law and order. Which these people seem to think is the best tv known to man. To me it seems like rinse and repeat for 20 years on end.

Maybe the movies should consist of short lived shows and cult classic or entertaining low budget flicks. Anything with a mix of action, humor, and maybe some social satire. Seems those kinda flicks always leave room for stimulating interpretation and discussion.

ADD: So gone in a few. Gonna work on the Ranchero and drink some rum and soda. Almost forgot. I GOT MY CE. YAY! I'll also be enjoying some BDH commentary goodness.

ADD PT II: My director left today. She was the one who trained and worked on my first regular shift. Sad happy right now. Good stuff because she is going back to school. Bad stuff because I have to diredt our interim director and our department head for a while.

Okay, goodnight folks.

I couldn't agree with you more, Zeek. I have avoided all permutations of that show. Its unwatchable, imo. One of the versions has Christopher Meloni in it, who I think is a great actor - but otherwise the premise of the show is to wait to see what disgusting things are reported in RL and write it into a show "ripped from the headlines."

Posting mainly to bump the thread. Wow, when people told me the threads weren't advancing, they weren't kidding!

Rugbug, how is Vinnie, that charming sleek guy in your life?
DesktopHippie, are you still around? I saw you post a little bit ago that Geekmafia is going to University. Tell him Congrats. Maybe if I leave some chocolate covered apricots around, she'll post...

I was asked the other day: If you could only bring one "non survival" thing to a deserted tropical island, what would you bring?

I started to answer "a book" but then stopped and had to think. Maybe a cello, or a violin. I've always wanted to learn to play.

What "non survival" thing would you bring?

Non Survival, Penguin. Tools can be used to make things on the island.

Where would hygiene objects rank for most people? Without my hairbrush, my hair would lock into dreadlocks within 2 months. A hairbrush? A toothbrush?

mornin' Imponderables.

*glomps Mavs* Miss you like crazy, babe.

Here's hoping you got to go shooting this weekend NVG.

Good luck with the first week of school MsG *hugs*. We'll see you Friday in Atlanta for some relaxation (Magda's in America !!!!!)

A musical instrument is a good idea for a non-survival item. I think a guitar would be fun.

I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
