Aside from his 30 seconds in the flashback in "Safe", haven't seen him in anything. And I have no interest in seeing HAIRSPRAY, despite having John Waters' name attached to it.

Does anyone find it mildly ironic that the two most famous people to come out of FIREFLY/SERENITY is this kid and The Operative? And Chiwetel was the biggest name involved in the movie at that time and brought in to make it more mainstream.

Speaking of The Operative, has anyone seen his latest movie TALK TO ME with Don Cheadle? I can't wait for this movie to go wide because it's exactly the kind of movie I get excited for nowadays.

I love the silverware bit and when he mocks Chiwetel at the end of the trailer.

And of course on the trailer, it's "Inside Man's Chiwetel Ejiofer". I suppose if they were marketing the movie to us it would be "Serenity's Chiwetel Ejiofer". I guess we're not there yet.

And...speaking of Chiwetel's operative, I have a simple question : He had no name and no rank, his mission was supposedly a tight secret, a stealth operation, versus an official military action...so how could he be in "command" of an Alliance space cruiser and be able to issue orders to all their ships in the quandrant?

I just got back from the movie. It's a great movie (I like musicals, I'm that girl who digs the musicals but can sit unflincingly through a movie like The Patriot at the same time and love every minute of it), good message, good music, great acting (nice to see James Marsden in a film that isn't comic-book related. Always loved him as an actor).

The whole time though I was looking at the main guy character, Link Larken, and thinking he looked REALLY familiar. Then about forty minutes into it my mind screamed "That's Young Simon!". And then I totally had a browncoat flashback to that scene in Safe. He does a fabulous job in the movie, he's got a killer voice and can dance like it's nobody's business. I predict big things for him.

Now if we can just get Big Simon in a box office movie... or the Captain... or.. hell... anyone from the cast.
