.... well, not so new actually, this little thing has been around a while, but i recently discovered the Myvu media viewer for iPod. (photo below)

this is not really an advertisement for the device... i just wondered if anyone else has used it and if so, what do you think about it..

i use it while on the treadmill or when someone is using the dvd player to watch something i don't like.... or just relaxing - it's pretty cool to have a personal viewing device to see favorite programs.

The downside (not so much), is that you need to buy movies, tv shows, music vids from iTunes - and they are fairly limited to their choices... but all in all, i really like this little thing...

any comments?

You can get semi-legal iPod vids via bittorrent. I say semi-legal because if you already own the vid in DVD format, it don't seem right you should have to pay again to view it via iPod. There are also programs available that will rip the vid off your DVD and reformat it for iPod, but it's easier to just go grab an ipod version via bittorrent. Bittorrent is not recommended if you don't already own a version (that would be very illegal, although some folks have checked out Firefly that way, then went and bought the DVDs.)

iTunes doesn't offer the BDM yet - and there are a lot of movies that i own that i want to put on iPod - so i will check out bittorrent.

I use a piece of software to rip my dvds to mp4 format so I can play them on the ipod if that helps any. It's from dvdxsoft I think, have to look when I get back home.

May not be smart, and it may not please you, but you're definitely gonna see what I have to say.
Put this in your sig if you had a favorite show that may have been named Firefly and was canceled by FOX.
