Ooh, I am so jealous. I was just mentioning to Ami that Meri-doll probably already had her book and had been reading for 2 hours. I won't get mine until tomorrow afternoon sometime, so y'all enjoy, and we'll discuss it soon.

Emma, is that your real name, and if so, what is your middle name? (we are naming our little girl Emma(line) Grace)

Actually Emma is my middle name. I always prefered it to 'Gillian', so much so that I developed a secret identity as a child that I've maintained to this day. Rigby came from the Beatles song Eleanor Rigby (my real surname is Marshall)

Now I have revealed myself to you entirely I shall ask you kindly not to conjure by it! (Yes I have been reading Dresden!)

Funnily enough Jimi-bear - although I have now had my copy of the book for 14 hours I am only up to page 179... partly coz I keep popping online to post silly things... partly coz I had difficulty settling down to read in my initial excitement, and partly coz I had a long standing date with friends tonight! We subscribe to a theatre season and tonight's ticket was booked months ago, well before the release date was announded, so from 5-now (almost 11.30) I have been out with these friends for dinner and the show... funnily enough when I hopped in the car my bestest friend asked me "what page are you up to?" and I said, "174", and she exclaimed "So am I!!" we have all kinds of spooky coincidences like that in our lives!!

Love you Honey - can't wait to discuss the book with you!! And Emma too!! And Rose and MsG!!! Oh all of you - it's so exciting!!

BTW... one of my friends calls me 'Emmaline', she likes to have different nick names for her friends to anyone else and one of my nicknames is Emmi, so she calls me Emmaline as her pet name! (or Miss Em) so that's so sweet that baby Emma will be kind of like my name in a roundabout way!
Love to Ami too!

It is a strange world in which we inhabit Emma, I do indeed live in Leicester, not sure how this was never worked out before lol

As for HP, I have read it, and done what I could to help the old man and my other half. Will start re-reading it tonight. I shall refrain from saying anything so you can experience it for yourselves but I am a very happy/satisfied man.

I shall be floating around next week as I'm off work but intending to finally do some work on my book so look forward to discussing it with you then.

I just went to see Order of The Phoenix, today(I know, I know, I'm behind the times!), cause I'm too busy to read the books these days, I'm not sure how true to the book it was, but it was a good summer blockbuster.

It was a Harry Potter movie. It likely only bore passing resemblence.

Actually, OotP was one of the more acurate potter movies.....which really isn't saying a lot, but I didn't leave the theatre wanting to lynch the writers of the screenplay like I did with most of the other potter movies.

The third one was my greatest disappointment...

I adored Proffessor Flitwick in the first movie, he was just like I imagined him to be, and more recently I read an interview which JK Rowling gave shortly after that movie came out (HP & the Philosopher's Stone) she said the same thing, "...exactly as I'd envisaged him..." but to my dismay they totally redesigned him for the subsequent films... imagine my disturbance when I realised he was still played by the same actor too!! I mean why bother with the same actor if you're going to make him into a totally different, and completelty unbelivable version??(BTW, Prof. Flitwick is played by Warwick Davis - same actor that played Willow in the movie of the same name, and he is also in the upcoming film of the Narnia Chronicles "Prince Caspian" As Nikabrik!!)

I still haven't seen OOtP but I will be seeing it this week!! And I am up to page 353 in Deathly Hallows... got a long way to go and I am savouring every moment!!

I didn't see the third movie. Nor the fourth. Nor do I have any plans to see this one. Prisoner was my favorite book at the time, and they had already pretty much shat all over the first two and I didn't much want to go into some kind of homicidal rage over it, so I just skipped it. I was a happier girl for it, so I skipped Goblet and I'm skipping this one and all the ones after!
Hi jie jie!

Hey all. Getting over the tail end of a cold (have the evil cough that will not die folks).

Spent about an hour at a bookstore last night for the Harry Potter Release Party -- was interesting, but left because of the workshop I had today...

Have been debating about getting a copy of the last book, since I'm curious about the ending. *shrug* Will see what my mom says about her copy.

*ponders responding to the commentary about Rugbug*
Y'know, I'd comment on that, but for the sake of most of the Bar&Grill patrons, I'll avoid starting a flame war.

*returns to sipping glass of port*
*wanders over to the breakables room to check the inventory, and if it needs a bit of cleaning*

Ah, the bar and grill. I sure have a lot of lurking to catch up on after staying off the internet this week to avoid any leaks or spoilers. I, too, am finished with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and I have to agree that it's definitely one of the better books in the series. Slow start, though. Could have done with less fumbling around wondering where to go from here.

What 'commentary' would that be? She doesn't come into the bar and grill, end of commentary. If I remember right, her reason is that it started as a Forsaken thread and she has an aversion to the Forsaken. I don't see a problem with this.

Sorry. "Commentary" might have been the wrong word. "Short discussion" might have been better.

Like I posted earlier, I thought about it. I decided that I'm not going to start something that might end up as a flame war. For those that care: 1) I've got nothing against Rugbug in any way, shape, or form; 2) I have my own issues during the time when what I understand of the situation happened; and 3) while the Forsaken Hell was/is fun, flame wars are not.

No conjouring going on here...'cept mebbe in my fevered imagination (as HK has called it) about the relative merits of the scripted word and the published photo vis a vis the entire revelation of a person. There seems to be a qualitative difference. But further speculation is useless without evidence to support the b-side of the comparison.
