Good Friday morning everyone.

Thanks a bunch Jimi. Seems I mentioned the man-whore thing a little too much. She threatens to pimp me out for gas and cigarette money, but prefers a "fair trade" instead.

As for the date, it got late in the evening so we shot a few games of pool instead. I seemed to have lost some weight 'cause I was carrying my ass that she handed me before leaving.

Well folks, last night we slept together. No foolin' about, but alot of cuddling and truthy goodness. She has to leave for the weekend so we'll be without 'til at least Monday. Issues aside, I can't wait until Monday.

Hi MsG! I know what you mean - the thought of having to take a job without Net access makes me cringe- mainly for the lack of fff.net and my friends here.

How are things there?

Tell me about Kendo class. I am intrigued.

(Really hates summer school for MSG)

I never knew anyone was capable of being so effected by me. It's funny really. She is my age so neither of us is new to much of what men and women do. But the way she innocently shys away from my kiss is astounding. As I was told this morning, "It it really hard to kiss you because I have a hard time stopping there." Naturally my response was to kiss her lightly. I had to reassure her that my kisses are not purely sexual. I love the touch and taste and the way she coo's on contact. So after making out for a bit she told me to roll over and sleep since I had to work. She held me through the night after massaging my shoulders.

Still amazed anyone is capable of such things.

Oh so very smitten Mavs.

I beg to differ MSG. Twitterpated seems to insinuate more of a crushy behavior. Don't get me wrong, I like it. But the serious nature of an actual relationship seems to superceed the more childlike qualities.

Heh, maybe a little twitterpated. We call each other to say hi. It is really cute to hear her choke when I answer the phone.

"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"

Hi folks. Just finished catching since yestiddy. I'm on vacation next week (woot!) so the last minute details have kept me away. Sounds like we might all be moving more into an upswing. Well, move of us. Hope abounds at least. (This means you too, Zero). The last few weeks have been a drain on many around here it seems. And few of those most capable of raising the mood bar, have been largely absent from here.

So NVG! I drink, er, from the Watercooler to your awesomeness. If I have time I'll mosey over to the Bar an' raise a real drink.

MsG, I searched my entire pr0n collection and none of the Bambies I could find mentioned anything about be "twitterpated" although it did appear some of them were having it done to them...

Mavs, I love the "Hair" touch to the story. When the offer you the job, you should just mail some red Clarol (shade of your choice) with a note that says "Like it so much? Do it yourself!"

Hi Jimi, Peng, SuperSecretSpy CK and Zeek, HK and Rhyianan if you're still here, and FlyVote if you're here yet. Howdy too, Hobbleit, for when you return.

CK you pretty well hit specifically what my issue is with the higher end of Acadamia Nuts, considering your brilliant non-specificity. Here I always thot you were a riveter (ala Rosie) or somesuch because of your previous mentions of a male-dominated career and weakish women in it who complain. I am redrawing my mental picture. Thanks for clarifying in the midst of the obfuscation.

I know the weekends aren't the best time to get responses, but this was just too weird for me...

I've mentioned in passing about a brief time spent at Ft. Jackson, SC where I was actually in a mixed gender enviornment. During this brief time, I allowed myself to become attracted to a female in the company that I was temporarily attatched to. Ultimately, I came to my better senses and sabbotaged our friendship by pulling rank and embarassing her with a picture of her in her underwear. I figured it was a pretty secure way of never talking to her again.

She called me yesterday. Says she misses me, wants me to come down to Texas where she's currently stationed to visit her and some mutual friends.

What's wrong with this picture? Didn't I humiliate her? I thought women were spiteful?

So here's where I'm at: I'd like to visit the friends irregardless of the female, but is she possibly setting me up for something? Like a trap? I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what she could possibly do, but on a military base her choices are limited.

I don't wanna risk even bringing my 22 onto a military installation, but I can't think of what to bring with me for protection.

Anyone got suggestions, comments, perspectives? I'm hoping one of the females on here will let me in on what she might be planning.

CMH, I've got nothing for you from personal experience. If anyone ever did that to me, I'd never even look in his direction. (WTF is up with that anyway? Why can't a guy just say he doesn't want anything more instead of making a messy situation?)

However, I do have a friend that did something similar to get a girl to break up with him. She was mad at him for a while, but ultimately forgave him and wanted him back, mostly because he was familiar and she was lonely. I don't know any details about your situation or if the woman in question is of this type of person, but it's one of the things to consider.

However, if she does plan on doing something, and thinks the way I do (which isn't certain) the prank wouldn't be anything that would seriously harm you enough that you would need protection....if anything, if would be something ultimately harmless, but as humiliating as what you did to her.

Altogether I guess I'm not overly helpful, but it does give you some things to think about right?

You were an ass, to be sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean she was humiliated.
Maybe she's not ashamed of her body or of her undies. Also? Some people do this wacky thing called "forgive."
What you did was - what? - one step away from pulling her pigtails and running off to the swingset? Some women find that adorable. ^^
(and maybe you should ask JQ here; I think he might be the resident authority on being an immature, manipulative ass )

Huh... and I thought men were spiteful.......

At the risk of opening myself up for further verbal abuse: This may sound like an off-the-wall radical idea, but... you could... you know... always ask this female why she wants you to visit after what you did, mutual friends aside. Otherwise, the solution is quite simple: don't go.

From my, albeit limited, experience, no male acting like a little bitch is worth any effort of such an elaborate "trap."

*shrugs*

Whatever you do, I imagine you'll be fine.

Sorry, I find this story very hard to believe. Considering the fact that what you are stating you did reeks of fraternization, sexual harrassment and the ensuing hostile work environment and would not be tolerated in todays military. What with you know, the regs and all. Had you "emabarrassed" her in such away she could have had your balls in a military vice by lunchtime. Not all of us on this site Chris are ignorant of the military and how things work in it. Additionally, the fact that you are proud enough of doing such a thing that you would talk about it here is pretty sad.

Um, condoms are a good thing, for a start. Cuz, well, ya never know, eh? They don't weigh much, so not getting to use them represents no great hardship if you end up having to carry them back home. {pun intended}

Also, I'm pretty sure there's no such word as, "irregardless". Just plain old "regardless" will do. {PR appreciation tidbit}

Yeah, yeah, I need better things to do with my time. Off I go to find 'em.

Irreverently,
coz

Peace. I'm just funnin' a bit.

Hobbleit...way to go!!! That is so fantastic CONGRATULATIONS!!!

FMF- major hugs sweety...

NV- So twitterpated I can see the lovebirds circling ( but in a good way) and twitterpated is also a serious thing. It's that first rush of togetherness that lets you build a groundwork.I am so incredibly happy for you!!!

CMH- here's a thought. Say " I'm not interested. Please don't contact me." Usually works well. Would likely have worked the first time too...

Sorry I'm just a big fan of the say what you mean don't play guessing games . If you don't like someone or want to break up...say that. It's clear, concise, and unmistakable for anything else. Plus it's simple and really the least effort.

Jonny- enjoy the break...I shall be off from the 6th-14th of July enjoying the beach:)

So, the doctor visit was about as disappointing as I can imagine it being. He can't help me. He knows nothing about autoimmune diseases, only the "allergy side of immunology." (As an aside, why the hell isn't there a single specialty for autoimmune diseases?!? I've been blown of by every ing specialty out there, because none of them can handle all my symptoms. It's like sending a cancer patient to a dermatologist because of the hair loss, for 's sake!)

Not only is the immunologist neither helpful nor schnazzy, he is also of the opinion that I need to give up on finding a diagnosis EVER. Just GIVE THE UP, in his opinion. I've been to 13 doctors now (not counting the Pain Specialist) in 3.5 years, and the immunologist says that if none of the 13 have been able to diagnose me, the 14th won't be magically smarter than the last baker's dozen. I've never actually heard "just give up and accept that at 26 years old, the rest of your life is going to be filled with crippling pain." I've heard "well gee, I don't know, I'm out of ideas" plenty of times. But never just GIVE UP. It was tough to hear.

After having a good cry on the way home, I figure the next step is to pick another new primary care doc before July 1st (always goes into effect the 1st of the next month). I'm trying to decide if I should go back to the well-intentioned but clueless doc that I've been seeing for the past two years and see if I can get him to send me to the Mayo Clinic for real this time, or if I should move on from him and pick a new doc at random, and hope I get someone who gives a about a 26 year old walking with a cane. Sigh.

Anyhow. CMH, that's an odd situation you find yourself in. I think Rhyianan might have made a good point though -- maybe this girl is just lonely and is turning to the last guy she thought she had a shot with. Not *all* women are spiteful, and not all spiteful women are pissed off by the same things. The others have made some good points, but to add my two cents to it, I can think of three situations that fit what you've told us:

1. She's lonely and is turning to the last guy she had a shot with. Maybe she had such bad relationships before you that something like you showing people pictures of her in her underwear didn't even phase her.

2. She wasn't embarrassed by you showing people pictures of her in her underwear. Maybe she thought you were bragging, maybe she's a bit of an exhibitionist, or maybe she just isn't ashamed of her body. I don't know a whole lot about the living conditions of female soldiers on base, but she probably walks around in her underwear in front of female soldiers all the time, so it may not be that big of a deal to her.

3. She actually was humiliated and hurt by what you did, and wants to humiliate or hurt you in return. I don't think this is particuarly likely, though. If you had found yourself stationed on the same base as her again and she had fed you this line, I could see it. But calling you? Seems pretty unlikely. And worse case scenario is a shitty night, but nothing that would require firearms protection, I don't think. Cell phone and phone number of someone who can come pick you up (or a local taxi company) if things turn mean, but that's as much protection as I would bring, personally.

But I don't think you need to worry too much about her motives, unless you are interested in getting together with her. You aren't, right? (If you are, you need to get to the bottom of why she doesn't seem to be angry at you about the picture thing. Numbers 1 and 3 above would be deal breakers for me, but I could work with 2.) But assuming you aren't interested in getting together with her, just ignore it. If you do want to see these mutual friends, I'd say don't go now, but in a few months call those friends and schedule a visit with them, without telling her anything about it. She may hear about it through the grapevine, but nothing says "I'm not interested" like coming to town and not telling her.

After a little over a day of deliberation, I arrived at the conclusion that it was stupid of me to think that this situation might actually turn physically violent. Chalk it up to lack of experience and interaction with normal people.

But thank you to everyone who gave the matter consideration. A lot of it is very helpful, just for the "This is how normal people think" part of it. But there seems to be a few misconceptions made...

I never was in a "relationship" with this female, nor do I believe she's interested in one. Last I remember, she had a boyfriend, close to a fiance', which is part of where my concern as to what was going through her head came from.

Second, I didn't humiliate her by showing the picture to anyone except for her. The humiliating her publicly thing was telling her to shut the hell up in front of her platoon. I found the picture and returned it to her, privately, albeit in a very dramatic and childish way specifically worded to make her feel embarrassed. I was more than aware of the possible repercussions of perceived sexual harassment, but it really boils down to "She posed for it, the picture was in a public area, and I returned it to her without showing it to anyone. If she has a problem with that, than perhaps Pvt. ____ should show more discretion in the future in regards to how she photographs herself.".

But this is scratching the surface of a greater issue. I can recall about 5 times besides this where people have doubted very personal situations that I've brought up on this forum. This is where I come many times for feedback from people with more social aptitude than myself. I know I'm uncouth, and I try to catch myself as often as I can and let people correct me. I fail a lot, too, but the last thing I need is people questioning the authenticity of my plights. As horrible as many of you think I've been in the past, I don't recall ever throwing someone's problems back at them as being fake, even when I questioned it in my own mind.

This is the last time I'm going to stand for this type of insult. Although it pains me to know that the same people who've questioned me will be getting exactly what they want, I cannot describe in civil words exactly how angry people like FMF have made me with this type of treatment. One of you even had the gull to question my military service in the past, one of the most despicable things I've ever had to endure.

Goodbye, FFF.net, I appreciate everyone who was open minded enough to debate and talk with me in a respectful and civil manner. To everyone else, you can go to hell, fuckers.

Mayo Mayo Mayo Mayo Mayo.
I imagine you've done an assload of research already, but I'd regret not mentioning this: have you checked into fibromyalgia?

I certainly don't know all your symptoms, and I'm just a geek, not a doc, but a good friend of mine suffers from it currently, and your situation seems reminiscent of hers.

XOXO

Thanks guys. *Hugs* I knew he was way out of line, but it helps to hear it from you all as well. I won't be going back, obviously, so once I realized that he couldn't help in any constructive way, I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. If I had anything invested in that relationship, I might have taken him to task over it.

Yeah, one of my mom's friends has fibromyalgia, so I looked into it pretty early. And the first rheumatologist I saw said it was FM, but then couldn't justify his diagnosis to me when I pointed out that I don't meet the diagnostic criteria -- I only have 6 of the 18 tender points, and you need at least 11 for a diagnosis. It also doesn't explain all my symptoms (chest pain with breathing, rashes, and what seems to be new mitral valve regurgitation), and from what I've read about FM, it doesn't go through flares and remissions like autoimmune diseases (and whatever it is I have) do, or flare after a viral infection. The second rheumatologist put me on cyclobenzaprine for awhile to see if it helped (it didn't do a thing), which according to the Mayo page is one of the drugs used to treat FM.

Anyhow, I've heard fibromyalgia called a "waste-basket diagnosis" by a couple of doctors (the immunologist most recently). I don't doubt that it's a real illness, but it does seem like it's something that some doctors turn to when they can't figure out anything else. And since it totally doesn't fit my symptoms, I've been very resistant to being "tossed" into that particular basket. My current "favorite" is lupus. Of the 11 diagnostic criteria, 1 can't be used to diagnose me (ANA, since it always returns positive if you have Hashimoto's, which I have); 1 I definitely have; and 3 seem like symptoms I have, but I would like to talk about them with a doctor who knows something about both lupus and multiple autoimmune diseases.

Mayo does seem like it could be in my future. I definitely wouldn't turn it down, at this point. And Mayo's already helped me -- I found this on their webpage: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/polyglandular-autoimmune-syndromes/AN
00367
a few weeks ago, and realized that despite writing down Alopecia Areata and Hashimoto's next to each other for the past 4 years, no doctor I've ever seen (13 and counting!) ever picked up on the fact that that means I have PAS Type 3.

Anyhow, thanks for all the hugs guys. I really needed them yesterday.
