Morning all...I feel like I have returned from exile... How are you all this morning

Mav- I am willing your phone to ring with all I have sweety ...oh and Happy Anniversary!

OK weekend was alternating between great and horrible...Thursday was fieldtrip + late night tutor and I didn't get home until 11pm
Friday- great as I went out to my parents and played with new baby and sis and Wyatt and had a ball....then horrible as on our way home the compressor on MisterG's car blew out and it will cost $1000 ( which is exactly what I had set aside for D*C so I was gonna have to cancel)
Saturday- just worked on laundry and house cleaning etc...sucky
Sunday- Great!! I went to celebrate baby sis's birthday and got a 3rd job so I will be able to make the money I need to go to D*C so I am GOING!!!

Anyway, what are we pondering?

Nice to hear from you, MSG!
Do you have a ponder to suggest?

Mav is on her 13th, I'm soon to be on 20th. How about you and MrG?

Edit: Oh and when I'm asked how long I've been married I always say something like "twenty years, twenty-five if you factor in the wind chill..." *snort*

So good to see you, MsG! *hug* And thanks for the good wishes (job and anniversay wise)

A 3rd job??? Holy Hannah. You are going to be wiped out!
I can't even get a 1st job...
for sticking with your plan. I know RIMG & Magda would be heartbroken if you had to cancel.

And I thought 2 was bad. What's the third?

In about 3 weeks it'll be 18 for MsQ and me. Wowie. Kudos to FlyVote and Mrs. FlyVote. These days it's an accomplishment. (Not saying 13 ain't a big deal. I think if you hit 10, you can call it a done deal. Everything after that is just victory laps. Till your tires go bald and you run out of gas.

I was freaking out all weekend...the job won't be too taxing ( I hope) but I just couldn't bear to miss out on D*C and not get to see Magda and everyone...

HUGS Mav you'll find something

I've been married 11 years

My ponder...would you rather know the outcome of a movie or book before you read it or be surprised?
I prefer to read the last chapter or have someone tell me what happens in th emovie..that way if it's going to make me unhappy or such like I can avoid it.

Oh my God! A page taken right out of the MsQ book of how to read books!

Not me. Good, bad or ugly, the surprise--if there is one--is part of the experience. I want to feel the impact as it was intended, more or less, by the author. If I know what's coming, the kick in the gut I might be in for at the end can't help but be diminished somehow. IMO.

But I'm a writer: I want to manipulate you. I want to be in control of your reading experience. So there you go.

You have chosen correctly. Heck for movies I really want to see I won't even watch the previews. Cause if I know there was something in the previews that still hasn't happened then I know who has to live until that scene. Ruins all the suspense.

Congrats on the wedding anniversary, Mav! Sending many good job vibeys your way as well.

I'm not big on knowing the ending before hand. Getting there is half the fun in my mind.

Okay, here's an imponderable: why do hot dogs come in packages of eight and hot dog buns come in packages of ten?

Thanks, deepgirl. Husband & I have had ups and downs. We're pretty happy to have made it to 13 years. If I could just get a decent job, thing's been pretty darn rosy!

I'm convinced the hotdog/bun problem stems from the Oscar Mayer cartel. They've been controlling things behind the scenes for years.

So I suppose you play the MsQ denial game too. If you watch the movie without knowing what's going to happen and it ends "unsuitably", after a few months you watch it again all the way up to the objectionable part and switch it off you you can make up your own happy ending in your head and the movie is finally deemed "acceptable".

Well, do you?

Well a liquid is compressed and expanded and when that happens there is a temperature change... Oh, not how is AC possible, but how is loving your best friend possible?

Romantically put: My wife being my best friend and my best friend being my wife is a natural thing.

Realistically, though, my wife is my best friend, but she also annoys the hell out of me. I love her immensely, and yet there are times that I can't figure out why we are together. I can't imagine our relationship being lukewarm. It has highs and lows but it is our effort to continue being a couple during all times that binds us together.

We know a lot about each other, but still find things to explore. We build on our friendship to strengthen our love. We have differences, we have disagreements. We are, after all, two distinct people. We recognize that we each need our space and that we don't force change on the other to suit our own needs.

And we have a son who loves us, who we love, who we annoy the hell out of, and who annoys the hell out of us...

Oh, and what is "in store"? Whatever you two make it. Love isn't a train ride only following tracks. You are the driver. You can turn anywhere.

So, to me the key word there is "first". I can see being best friends with your significant other, but I have problems seeing how it could happen as a transition from best friend to significant other.

I know pretty darn quickly when I'm attracted to someone. The only way I could see becoming best friends without going for a romantic relationship is if the person is taken when you first meet. Other than that I just don't see me going from no spark to love of my life.

There ia a whole S load of possible complications that would normally scare me off. But that indefineable thing really keeps the second guessing at bay.

Like I said before. I'm just happy to have my friend.

ADD: We had times in between where it could have happened. We were never ready together. That whole meet in the middle thing never happend. It was too difficult to risk losing the one person I couldn't lose.

(This is below, from above) I am not an advocate of this behavior; I would never suggest anyone do this, but MsQ was married when we met and fell in love. I'm just saying if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. No matter the circumstances. Some things are just undeniable. I don't know if that's your situation, NVG, but if your "friend" needs to be out of her situation regardless of your involvement, I wouldn't torture myself over the right thing to do. If she's not looking to get out, there are things bigger than we as individuals' desires.

89 degrees must runs somewhere in the thirties. 8-12 sounds much more like a prison sentence than a temperature. I'm guessing that must be something like early spring weather rather that first of summer weather though.

8-12 is typical up here in about March.

June we usually get up to about 20 degrees C but that is far too hot. I can only go to about 16 before melting.
