How would you parody the FIREFLY cast?

Hey All

I was just recently watching THE VENTURE BROS. (which is a very funny AdultSwim series) and I loved the variosu potshots it made to famous quartets in pop culture. Like how they made fun of the Fantastic Four and the Scoobies (the real ones, not the Buffy counterparts) as these nightmare or burnt-out versions of the characters (I like how they turned Shaggy and Scooby into a David Berkowitz type that was haunted by this demon dog that only he could see). And it got me thinking about FIREFLY and how it could be parodied.

Yes, I know about MOSQUITO and the incredible job they did with taking the piss out of the characters, but I think that there are other opportunities and ways to parody FIREFLY.

So I'm asking, if you got the opportunity to take the piss out of FIREFLY, how would you do it? Or if FUTURAMA (which thankfully is starting up again), were to parody FIREFLY, how would you like to see it?

I think that with Kaylee, the parody of her is that she's this incessantly cheerful and chatty girl who won't shut up, kind of like Kelly on THE OFFICE, who the crew is starting to get annoyed with already. And that with Inara's shuttle, that when Mal comes to visit, that instead of one guy, that there be like two dozen guys being flushed out, like the running gag in KIDS IN THE HALL: BRAIN CANDY where you always see like two dozen guys flee a mens room, like if it were a bath house.

So in what way would you like to see FIREFLY parodied, or do you think MOSQUITO did so good a job that no one could parody it as good as that one. Kind of like AIRPLANE!

I really hope that Futurama does parody Firefly. I think they could do an excellent job.
If not I'd settle for Robot Chicken doing a kind of 'Where are they now?' sketch. Each character talking about what they did after the movie plot finished. This would be played as the characters and not the actors.

Following on from your ideas I think Inara should also sleep with everyone in the crew - except Mal - and he never quite catches them there.
Kaylee you are spot on with, never shutting up and annoying everyone.
River would be totally crazy - except when others weren't around and then she would be completely normal, making you realise she was just acting crazy.
Book would have to be a real foul-mouthed, drunken lout.
Mal would be an incompetent buffoon, still in charge, but it would be all the others that do ther heroics (kinda like Hong Kong Phoey).
Zoe would a complete warmonger, wanting to kill everything that even thought about moving. She also suspects that Wash may be cheating on her all the time.
Wash would be cheating on Zoe, but with something like Mr Universe's sexbot or something.
Jayne - can you parody Jayne?

That makes me laugh because honestly, I think in some parallel universe Charlie Sheen played Mal in an alternate version and played it the same way Nathan did.

It's weird, both Charlie and Nathan have the same comic/dramatic sensibilities as actors. You can imagine Nathan being a power hungry stockbroker being groomed by Michael Douglas and saying to John Malkovich "That's great!! Hot lesbian witches!!" just as easily as you can imagine Charlie seeing River for the first time and giving the haunting look of a man losing everything in Serenity Valley.

They should have a South Park Firefly special. That would be AWESOME!!!

Stan would be Mal, Wendy would be Inara, Cartman would be Jayne, Butters would be Wash, Token would be Book, and Bebe would be Kaylee. I guess Tweak would be River (they would probably just dress him up like a girl), and Kyle would be Simon. But who would be Zoe?... Maybe Jimmy.

That might work. But I see Cartman as more of a Badger type. Only slightly creepier. Still. Cartman is Badger. And South Park parodies rarely fill in every role. They go more for the feel of a thing. And I kinda think Kenny would be amusing as Jayne. Definately there on Tweak for River though. Or maybe Ike.

Not to hijack my own thread, but if there's one show that deserves to be crucified by SOUTH PARK, it's LOST. This season, they did a pitch perfect imitation of 24, and the 300 spoof they did was just hilarious. And even thought LOST has finally gotten back on track and is now a show I actually give a shit about, it's still a ripe target that would be so perfect for Trey and Matt to destroy.
