Well I used to read all the new fanfiction, but lately (last year or so) I've only really been checking in for ScrewtheAlliance and Hotpoint (may one day he blow the dust off his keyboard. . .I miss his stories). Any suggestions for a couple of long, character driven stories? I'm not into slash and I prefer the pre-BDM, I love wash, stuff. Thanks for the help.

DARKFLY

Well my 1st ever fan fic The Dark Chronicles is coming out very soon, the 7th of June to be exact only 3 days away.its a action/tragic love story/occasionally funny, its set a bit after Serenity and is definitely character driven a lot...

Mal4prez should fit all your criteria beautifully. Excellent writing, long and involved plots, confident and complex character exploration with a particular focus on Mal but great takes on every single character.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one missing Hotpoint's prose. I wonder where in the 'verse that writer has gotten off to.

It's post-BDM, so it doesn't fit all of your criteria, but the writing is so elegant that I have to recommend Jane0904 as a writer. Go back to the beginning of her sagas and read through them or you might not know who some of the new characters are. I usually like my stories to include as many of our BDH's as possible, but hers just grow on you.

And just in case you are reading this, Hotpoint: WHERE ARE YOU!!!!!???? (We miss you. And your keystrokes.)

Argh, I've read and reread his saga at least 4 times (normally every 4 months or so when I go into fic depression).
