I don't know if this has ever been discussed, but we need to start a major Firefly DVD-buying campaign. Given the recent news about Family Guy, I think we really need to show Fox that they made a mistake with Firefly, by boosting the DVD sales to a figure they can't ignore. There's pretty much no chance it would get picked up again, like Family Guy might, but let's at least try to make the execs at Fox feel really bad.
Basically, I call this campaign "Buy 3", or more ambitiously, "Buy-as-many-as-you-can". The idea is this, if you haven't figured it out already: Buy as many Firefly DVDs as you can. It's Christmas season, and we all know how great this DVD is, so buy one for all your friends as gifts. Plus it'll get people excited about the upcoming movie, and give people more reason for making any new Firefly-related stuff. I don't really know what else to do, I just feel the need to make sure everyone knows how great Firefly was, and these days, the only way to make an impact is through money.

It would actually be kind of cool if the distributers underestimated sales and find themselves sold out after a week or two. Wouldn't it be a nice Christmas for Fox to sell so many DVD's of the television show they couldn't comprehend. The one they cancelled. The one that's going to establish Joss Whedon's filmmaking career. The one that got away.

I have next to none or no money. It's all going to the Firefly DVD. Sorry.

Succatash, 10 copies is enough. But that is not to say you can't buy more.

If you go to Suncoast, you can preorder it for $20. The site says $38 but I went to a store and got it for $20. I'm not sure how much it'll be starting tomorrow.

My Xmas list ?

They're ALL gettin it for xmas... sure it's $400 worth, but I am of the opinion that FF is a quality series far more durable and enjoyable than $30 worth of shoddy chinese consumer goods and near useless gimmick 'appliances' that barely work and don't last a week.

Or worse, gift cards that self-destruct their own value with hidden fees up the ying-yang.

It's one of the few quality products out there.

Another note on suncoast you might want to mention the show to the counter person and ask if they would give the pilot episode, or your faverate episode, a run on there TV's. If I understand corectly the are allowed to show any vid they have in the store as long as it's the proper rateing. Can't hurt to ask and if they say 'Yes' then I'm sure they will be asked by a lot of people watching there tv's what that show is.

Would have done that at the store where I picked up my preorder, but they were sold out. Sorry

BTW this was about noon on the ninth. They had 9 copies of preorders behind the counter, and were out of them in the store.

You hear that Fox? They were SOLD OUT!!

That should teach 'em!

Book: “A duel?”
Wash: “With swords?”
Simon: “The Captain's a good fighter, he must know how to handle a sword?”
Zoe: “I think he knows which end to hold.”
