Would you tell me, please which way I ought to walk from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if you only walk long enough."

Oh! Didja mean DTH? *innocent look* 'cause let's not get into how unlikely it will be for me to ever become a "teacher of the year" type. *blinks again*

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Oye! See what I miss when I zonk out for twelve hours?
And I think I'm probably the youngest regular on this thread, though I think GhoulFish said something about not being old enough to drink.
Oh, but then it looks like zero isn't old enough either. Okay, then, maybe I'm not the youngest here But I'm not ten years older than you.
Okay, still groggy from the lots of sleep, and still have too much, um, energy.

*dances around the maypole*

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

*sneaks into the thread looking like a walking garland stand*

In honor of May Day a.k.a. "Lei Day" *whistles sharply* I thought I'd do something different...*BDH-clones walk in, looking like walking flower-garland/lei stands, as they walk through the bar, and giving the lei properly (draping the lei, and giving at least one kiss on a cheek)*

*settles on a couch, after hugging RIMG* So far, things are going fairly smooth. Ask me when I see you folks in the morning, and it may be a completely different story.

*slowly savors a glass of 20-year old whisky*

We're discussing ages? I'm rapidly approaching 30. It scares me. Shouldn't I be... I don't know... grown up or something?

You're a ninja, zero? Doesn't matter. I'm a hippie and hippies are immune to ninjas. *Everyone* knows that.

GEE

morning all,

it's at times like this (when I get into work and already everything is going to hell in a handcart) that I picture a house dug into the hillside of the Scottish Highlands, you go through the round front door (and you wouldn't believe how hard I had to fight with my other half to get that!) into an open plan entry hall with a glass roof, filled with the sound of running water that draws your attention to a pool fed by water running down the wall with a few carp swimming in circles. If you listen very carefully you can hear the tap of fingers on keys as I finally get time to finish my book in my study but knowing how I hate to be disturbed you head into the kitchen to put the kettle on. I'll be there in a minute, I have an instinct about kitchens and kettles.

Alternatively, I'd better get on, hope you days are starting better than mine!

STINKINGROSE

I was so busy with things surrounding May Day that I did not even go online yesterday.

Potluck and ritual tree slaughter (I mean maypole harvesting) was at my place last night.
The traditional "has everybody got all of their kit together and ironed" was intoned.

I then slept in (relatively speaking) on May 1 for the first time in over 15 years. Previously I had to wake in time to dress and make it to the water tower in time to dance at 6am sharp.
Habit being what it is, I woke up suddenly at just about 6 and watched the sun rise. I was, however, warm and in my jammies for a change.

Yes, Gee, there *will* be Morris in this thread. If I did not dance in RL, I can always do it virtually!

jingly jingly jingly

I do not have a bad beard, however. That is my husband's job.
Mock not the Morris Dancers, for they are armed with sticks and quite tiddly.

Happy Beltaine to them as observes it. My favorite holiday poem:

The first of May!
The first of May!
Outdoor starts today!!

The maypole is always so cute, because the wee kidlings are the ones who dance it, with parents helping them keep track of whether they are a 1 or 2. It's 8am by then and the grownups have had plenty of opportunity for caffiene at that point.

It always looks like deranged rat macrame artists did it while profoundly stoned. But the kids are soooo cute! They can't help it if their parents can't follow simple instructions while moving to a plodding beat.
