I am making a custom blend of "Firefly" wine (my family owns a winery). Please understand, this is not for sale and strictly for personal use, so no worries regarding intellectual property (well, not many, anyway - I'm a lawyer and I'll take my chances). If I ever meet any of you in person, perhaps I can make you a gift. It is my small tribute.

What I want for the label are:

1) "firefly" text logo, and

2) Firefly-class ship silhouette

This is going to look freakin' awesome and be an ultra-premium red wine. Please point me to any suitable files for the above, and if anyone wants to design the whole label, let me know. I'm basically looking for a two-tone tan sort of thing with gold-embossed "firefly" script across the top and maybe some pithy quote.

Thanks.

Not sure what your graphics nerd level is, but the font used for "Serenity" in the ships logo is called Papyrus

Mink :)

After reading your post I have gotten some quick ideas. Give me a day or two to come up with something. When I'm done I can post it here or send it to you. Just let me know. And by the by, save me a bottle

Hi Mink,

For info on the Firefly font, see Rick Macmerc's site here:
http://blogs.macmerc.com/rick/?p=232

It's fontastic!

Quote:

On to Serenity: It is widely held that the font used for the Serenity title treatment for the Firefly motion picture is Papyrus, again, like the Firefly logo font, it is very close to Papyrus…but not. Although in this case, I gotta concede, it’s close enough for the girls I go out with. It’s been tweaked a bit, but not enough to sweat over–heck, there isn’t even a consensus between the typeface used in the film and the typeface used on the marketing! I ended up using Papyrus for the website for all the headlines since it is a pretty common system font.

If you're putting a quote on the bottles, it *has* to be "The Finest In Beverages That Make You Go Blind!"

I know you're wine doesn't do that, but I don't care. That has to be the quote. Has to be.

DTH you took the words right outta my mouth. Great quote btw. I am in the process of putting a label together now and I did have in mind to have what you've posted on the label

There will also be another quote at the bottom. With some luck I'll finish today.

Putting up the label graphic in the BSR. Just an idea that can be changed and played with. Good luck with the wine. I can almost taste it my own self.

Thanks so much everyone, Browncoats rule as ever. Z, that is a cool label! It's not quite where my vision was at, however - I was thinking of something more clean and corporate looking with crisp lines. Although, your concept has got me thinking that there are many possibilities still to consider.

So now, please excuse my complete ignorance and fallibility and remind me which episode features the finest in beverages that make you go blind?

Mink you're welcome I had a lot of fun doing it. By the by,me being the absent-minded type of browncoat that I am I sometime don't get quotes from the tv series or BDM just right. So the quote shouid read "Finest" and not "Best". My bad sorry.

Anyhoo, this was just a little imagery to get the ball rolling and btw the quote is from the "Shindig" eps.Where Mal,Jayne and Badger are in Badgers-rabbit hole doing business.
