A question from a new Firefly Fic author, who is wondering if it's rude to plug one's fic when it's off-site?

Hello. I just wrote the first part of what is projected to be a three-part Firefly story that is based around the events depicted at the beginning of "Serenity". Unfortunately, I tried to post it in the Blue Sun Room, and was unable to do so. I then published it on FanFiction.Net. I am wondering if it would be rude to 'advertize' my story on this message board by giving out the URL address so that fellow fans can come and read it?

First maybe work on fixing the problems you had with the Blue Sun Room-- it's good to cross-post. Let me know if I can help. My email is in my profile.

A long time ago, there was a Holy Rule Book that explained the proper procedures for this situation. But the holy book was mysteriously stolen and never recovered.

Well, good people, I managed to manually type the thing into the 'paste here' box and upload it. It took the better part of 3 hours, but it's there and it doesn't have any annoying formatting errors like all my stuff at FanFiction.Net does (shakes head sadly over the condition of my Matrix and Count of Monte Cristo fanfics that are posted on FF.N. )I edited at least one paragraph out of it because I wasn't sure how it fit with official canon, but it's up and flyin', folks.

I usually just cut and paste from Word, which works fine :-). You don't even need to convert to text, and then I check to make sure the formatting is ok--if not, just edit it.

But post your URL as well, I'm always in the market for good fic.

Phil.
